I have a Winged Hive Tyrant, and when he hides behind certain obstacles, he is completely hidden, except for the 2 horns from the wings. Since these are the only things that are visible, does that mean i can still get shot at? IMO I don't think so, since shooting at such a small piece wouldn't hurt. Also, with my Raiders and Ravagers (My DE army) I convert the crappy tails to look like scorpion stinger tails. Since they are also pretty tall, when they hide, you can only see the big blade. Can opponents still shoot at it, even though you can only see a tiny bit of it? Any help would be appreciated.

to say what Pandora said...(but nicely) there are no sure fire rules when it comes to cover, though what your saying most people would say they can't be shot at but, it is best if you make this clear with your opponent before playing... always be clear on what cover will effect models and how it will effect them before starting the game.

I dissagree with that as I have some low walls that are still high enough to cover more than half a guardian while still allowing him to be seen but as I said there are no sure fire rules so whatever you play with is fine just make sure you and your opponent agree on it before the game starts.

Man, don't make me invoke the "phone book of flattening BG's army"

Anyways, I'd say that half the model gives a cover save, and half of the model is needed to shoot at it. And decide the amount of the save before hand if you know it'll come up in the game.

And remember that if Your opponent can shoot at You, You can shoot back (if You have ranged weapons, of course).

We usually need 1/4th of the model to be visible enough to be targeted, this still makes sense for most models. If you only see a limb, cannon or something similar extend it's not visible.
