So, the Siege of Vraks II is being shipped this week, and I was wondering; has anyone got theirs yet? I preordered mine, but I live in western canada so I won't be gettign it for a while. Anyways, if anyone has got it, what are their first impressions? Interesting story? Is the Servants of Slaughter list as cool as it sounds? Anything else you want to say?
Wow it looks very cool. I see no mention of Tyranids there though
I see the page with the Titan battlegroup. I thought titans were supposed to be really rare and never a large number in one place like that.
what exaclty is the siege of vraks?
As of Sep 25th 20082k+ Blood Wolves (SM) 0|1|01k- Black Frost 1st (IG) 1|0|0
The siege of vraks are a series of 3 books part of FW own book series named the Imperial Armour series, sofar there are 6 books out.
IA volume 1: Imperial Guard and Imperial Navy
IA volume 2: Space Marines and forces of the Inquisition
IA volume 3: The Taros Campaign
IA volume 4: The anphaleion Project
IA volume 5: The siege of Vraks part 1
IA volume 6: the siege of Vraks part 2
The first volume were just vehicle profile, fromthe 3rd book on FW deceided to do them in a campaign style story.
Now the Siege of Vraks is about an imperial munition world that has fallen under the reign of a corrupted cardinal, IG forces are send to reclaim that world by a 12 year siege, however the forces of chaos are starting to lend their support to the Cardinal's renegade forces.
Please note in Vraks III they're having deamons and inquisitorial stuff show up.
Vraks II is great. it irons out some kinks that just didn't settle right in I.
They're also subltly different armies too - The renegades can have a real blast by putting demo charges on each sgnt.
And, depressingly for me it has the macharius varients in it. (I got I for the macharius. II for the macharius annhialator)
And Lo, they bought fourth the reaver titan. and all resin heads fell to their knees, and there was wailing, and gnashing of teeth, and cries of "I want one of those"

Any idea of a release date for Vraks III? Going to be getting I and II, III sounds very interesting.
According to what I was told at the Dutch Frenzy it's about april/may for the 3 book.
It wasn't a set date but they were aiming for it.
I think the Servants of Slaughter lists is actually very solid; very similar to a guard list, but they can take Khorne Berzerkers as elites, and Ork-like (same amount of points, one less attack, one more initiative) Beastmen as troops. I think it would be a pretty wicked list to play.
In all honesty though, I will be peeved if the Imperium loses the war in IA7: SoV III. When you consider the ineptitude and lack of foresight of the Imperium in IA 3, and to a lesser extent, IA4 ("That must of been the main Tyranid army that just suffered crippling losses. They MUST be all but beaten at this point."); you would hope that Inquisitor Rex's dire portents about the future of Vraks and the subsequent use of his imperial mandate to induct the entire Krieg army, a surprising glimmer of insight, might actual be rewarded. I don't mind if the Imperial win is a loss in itself, because they take a completely obliterated planet and suffered umptillion casualties doing so; let the Imps win.
