I had an idea for a new army. I wanted to go with an Alpha Legion army with traitors. Does anyone know how the "allies rules" will be? I heard rumors (just rumors) that the new inquisition book will not be compatable. (just heard rumor) Now is there any word on any of it? I was thinking of using the Imperial Guard codex as the main army as Traitors and using the Daemonhunter codex to "count as" Chaos marines. With the conversions to "represent" the various mandatory items (ex. halberds) any ideas?

Sounds like a great idea, and the Inquisition Codex is waaaaaay off, so I wouldn't worry about it.

For a friendly game anything goes as long as you discuss it with your opponents, I'm using the renegades list from FW.
For the DH codex that's still a long way off, not likely within the next 2 years.

Cherry-picking two dexes is kinda frowned-upon. Think the other way around -
Take Codex: DH using Chaos Marine models to represent GK and GK Termis.

Note: You only need two Compulsory Troops from the DH dex.
The other four can be from Codex: IG -

Use the DH Stormtrooper rules for any Carapace armoured Traitor Units.
Allied IG Infantry Platoons and AF Squads can then make up the rest.
You do not have to take an Infantry Platoon for each AF Squad taken.
