I would like to ask you guys here at LO for a comp sheet for 40k(obviously).
Since one of my friends is arranging a tournament and came over a sheet he didn't like, and can't be bothered making his own.
FYI, we both tried to find one, but failed miserably at doing so.
So if anyone has one, please, can you upload it and give me a link, or send it to me in an e-mail? (E-mail should be in my profile)
I'd love to help you out, but what's a comp sheet?
I'm fairly sure it is short for comparative sheet.
I haven't looked into it that much.
But it is for comparing players to determine who plays who and etc.
Thing is, the one my friend have doesn't look right at all.
It gives negatives for units that are considered horrible and worthless on the tournament scene and positives for units that are considered the opposite.
Well if it's simply to match players based on what units they bring, I would think it doesn't matter whether the scores go up or down for "horrible" units (and vice versa) as long as everyone's score is affected in the same directions. Just match up players based on their scores so that lower scoring armies face other low scoring armies and higher scoring armies only face other high scoring armies.
Of course, automatically segregating players from each other in this way seems like an unfair judgement call if you ask me. Doesn't everyone in the tournament enter because they think their army can beat everyone else's? Scoring some armies lower than others is like saying "you're not good enough" before even playing any matches. I've never heard of such a practice, but honestly I haven't attended a huge number of tournaments either.
Indeed it is, I suppose it will have to do then.
The idea behind the whole sheet, I think, is to determine which players each player is to play during the tournament.
So Land raider rush vs Terminator spam or something, instead of the Land raider rush VS swarm 'nids.
So no 'easy wins'.
As a separate tweak I know that my friend gives additional points than those you get from playing games.
I.e A player with a low comp score will get less such points than one with a high one.
I think it was 1-5 additional points based on the comp. Those are your base before your games.
It encourages playing other than power-armies, Land raider rush for example.
Oh well, lets see how it goes.
