    apoc question

okay forgive me for the noobish nature of this question, but i was wondering in apocalypse is there any limit on the force organization as in regular 40k. and could i use the majority of an existing list in a apoc force, or even add an extra 2k to my existing force to get past the 3k mark.

No force organisation, at all. The whole point of apocalypse is you use whatever you have, as long as your force is >3000 points. However, you will still need troops, as at the end of the day regular Apoc. is still objective based.

If you're talking about an entire battle company of Space Marines that follow the codex, then there shouldn't be anyhow, as if you look they adhere to the rules for choices, 1-2 HQ, 6 troops, 2 Fast Attack, 2 Heavy Support, plus Elites. It's only when you start fielding backup stuff that a normal game becomes an issue, where you have extra heavy support like predators, or FA such as Speeders. But certainly in Apoc. yes you can field an entire company of pretty well any army. As long as your opponent agrees. Or the organiser hasn't set points restrictions on each player.

if you are not taking super heavies or formations you will get stomped.

Get a bane blade and take a bunch of formations, damcoles rhino is way good too.

You'd be surprised, a librarian can take a stompa with a lucky shot.... How do I know? Because I did it, first Apoc. game I ever played, Vortex of Doom on it's head. LOL, Stompa go Boom!

Damocles rhinos are a fraction of the price. and used for entirely different roles on the battlefield.

The point being is that the orbital bombardment that each one adds can even the playing field when your opponent takes hard formations and cheesy super heavies
