There is no way the Crons can kill the Flyers fast enough (I see no pylons). Those that die will be unable to stop the conscript horde. Hasad ftw. -AFG//

I agree with AFG. If Jaffar_Hasad chooses his targets with his planes carefully, the Necrons just won't have the killing power, whether with shooting or combat, to take down the 130 guardsmen, especially if they can get a 5+ cover save. I vote for Jaffar_Hasad |

How the necrons will win this is keep one more objective claiming unit than the guard alive which is very likely. If they ignore the planes and focus everything on reducing the scripts so they cant claim then I can't see them losing.

I think no1cafc makes a very good point. Lots of small units probably would have been more of an issue for the Necrons than a few big ones. andre for the win (just about)

Wow, this would be a great game to play out some time. Here we go. Phalanx is scary, but easily avoided. Flyers ignore intervening models and terrain for LoS. If that wording doesn't work for you, I can just fly behind the monolith shield.Since the monoliths worry me (teleport near my conscripts or something equally threatening) I have 16 hellstrike missiles and TL lascannons to deal with them. leftover missiles fly at lords if they are valid targets, then at destroyers. Then comes the massive bombardment. Dropping full marauder payloads into warrior squads at the center of the army will do massive (near wipe out) casualties. With many warriors missing from the center, I might be able to do the second full payload on a squad that is further then the distance required to WBB (if fully wiped out that is). With that I have Thunderbolts throwing down 5 twin linked shots that make a mockery of to-wound rolls, and of those 5, 1 tl shot that ignores WBB. For return fire, the warriors would never have rapid fire. Keeping 12" away from his models, they wouldn't get a shot off. Plus with rapid fire they lose the long range shot if they move towards my flyers. For the final turn (if I am not lucky enough to force a phase out before then), I would use Strategic Redeployment to move the conscripts. Good news for me though. For everyone who says "he only has 3 squads", those squads can make lines in between objectives. 1 squad could be used to hold 2 objectives in my deployment, and then the rest could be sent to other locations. Again I must point out that this would be an amazing game to play IRL. --------edit--------------- oh yeah, if his flayed ones decided to deep strike near my conscripts, they have to deal with intense rapid fire, and death from above.

I think i've got to go with Jaffar_Hasad on this one. Too many Flyers targeting the Necrons. I think the Monoliths will fall, but more importantly, he'll be able to force a phase out with flyers. I'd love to see the Imperial Air Force in action. Would be a great battle to witness. |
