With the current votewar finally drawing to a close, i've decided it's time for the organisation of the mother of all votewars, designed to bring in just about all of the 40K community. I can tell that you're thinking 'this guy is mad, we'll have 1000 matches at once.' Wrong. the plan is simple. Each army has one list, ie, tyranids, eldar, necrons, at 2000 points. This list is created in that army's sub-forum, from a thread created for it, with every player contributing to it. Then, it's just a case of pitting the lists against each other at random and votes away! Obviously, tactics will be a problem, but each forum should elect someone to post their tactics. What does everybody think? if we can get it to work, it'll be amazing. So who's with me? |

Each person would also ideally assign themselves to one team, and contribute only to that team. Otherwise, things could get really confusing, and the possibility of accusations and flamewars makes me shiver.

), and just ban tactics.tbh, I really can't see this working. Having one list per army, I cannot forsee working. I'll use the Eldar list as an example. Do we use Footslogging, Mech, jetbike, or gunline? There are too many different styles that would conflict with each other. But in case you decide to go ahead with it anyway, here are a few pointers when running a VW: *Keep the matches short. If you find them lasting a week or so (not to mention any names ), then people will grow bored of watching the matches.*Make people vote in Bold. Believe me. As a VW Master, this is something you should learn to accept without question. Once you have to tally the votes, you will know what I mean. *Never have gaps between rounds of more than a day. Again, people have short attention spans. *Make sure they are SIMPLE. This, I cannot stress enough. My AToG one involved people updating lists, and sending them in before each round. Suffice to say, it got really messy. *Look through the archives. Have a look at what VWs have done well, and think about why. -AFG//

As for choosing different list styles... the team could have a poll, popular opinion, whatever. How they make their lists is not up to me. Is was going to have 3-day matches, with no gaps. Voting was planned to be a poll, as i hope to attract far more people than normal. Simple it will be, past the starting making your army. How should i start it? posting a thread here telling people to go into their army forums and gather people to make a list, or post a thread in each army forum telling them about the votewar? The army forum one would get more people, but might be objected to... | |

Anything that doesn't show up by XX/YY/ZZ can just be entered by you, as a SEED list or something. But if it were me, I wouldn't actually use that format tbh. I think the mundane "16 lists- double elim" one worked fine. Come to think of it, the one IA organised was a good one. If you want an epic one, do that, maybe with 32? Though really, you can do any even number with double elimination when you think about it. -AFG//
