I knew the Necrons had it sown up, I honestly think Necrons have a very powerful tactic in the phalanx of Warriors with lord with resi orb within 12" and Mono's grrrr hate em, but well done to the winner. My list was the Tau list, which did better than I thought, I went for a very balanced non cheesy list after studying the previous votewars. It was obvious most people were just going for straight out and out power lists (not all but the majority), and this is where I see the problem with votewar. I think votewar would be a lot better if the submitters posted the list they would use on a day to day basis, my Tau list is 95% the same as the one I use every day(its in the army list forum), the only difference being a unit of Stealths just to help against infantry type lists etc. The battle against the deathwing showed how powerful a list the Tau can be as did the one against the nids, but the most enjoyable debate was the Eldar (they are so frustrating). I can honestly say that I would not change the Tau list (until new codex anyway) and I am proud of how it performed. My favourite list was the Space Wolves 'Ice Giants' simply for its character (love Wolves) but it is so unfluffy (Wolves dont like DS or drop pods) but I like unfluffyness. My least favourite! that goddamed Space Marine list with the speeders (sorry Cal) just have a sneaky nagging feeling this list would not perform in a real game and I would so love to play it, so to that end I am organising a game with my Marine player bud (we are goona proxy the speeders) just to see how it pans out and I am confident of victory (if I am wrong I will admit it on this very forum and will post a bat rep). So the fact that the Tau did reasonably pleases me, especially because it was not the standard Mech, stealth heavy power gaming list, and thats one of the reasons I argued its corner so much, because the tactics for playing this non cheesy list had to be explained, as the max power lists posted basically rely on one or two elements (60 assault cannon shots for instance and said BB rolls and Mono's for Necs). I would much rather everyone posted realistic gaming lists and I think it would make for a much more enjoyable votewar. My next list posted will be my Nid list, again its my standard gaming list and has no shooting at all (zilch the carnie in the forum list has been replaced with Lictors) but I am going to post it knowing full well it will probaly come up against maxed out Eldar, Dark Eldar, and min/maxed Marines with drop pods etc, but again I would rather use it than just go all out to create a list that relies on unrealistic cheese potential. I have no doubts it wil not win but I hope others will follow suit and post their standard lists as well and make for a realistic debating experience where we can all learn something about the lists we use, I have learned my Tau struggle against vehicle heavy Eldar for instance and I will be taking this into account when the new codex comes out. Anyway good win for the Necrons.
