Hmm I'm the first voter on this: I think it's because it's a hard call (well that and Easter probably had a bunch to do with light voting on sunday anyway) OK now to start off with I think this is going to be a hard fought battle, things are going to be tricky, but I'm going to put my vote in for the alpha wolf cause they're the leader of the pack no? bad pun aside, the reason I see them winning, is all other things being about equal in my eyes the alpha list uses rhino's vs the beta's drop pods: alpha will be able to utilize the rhino's to be in position with their whole force: their job will be done basicly uncontended because the other team will have still not arrived in force. The landspeeder rending shots are likely to destroy the vindicator (well at least keep it from shooting, but it gets on average a penetrating hit) after that it's simply a matter of dealing with the rest of the army as it comes down piecemail. As I said before, I had a hard time deciding, but this is they way I'm going to vote.

The basic lack of anti tank means the rihnos wont be totally destoryed. This allows a purer battle between numbers, where the alpha list has a clear advantage. They also have better shooty support. The vindi will be popped right away by the long fangs, or tornados. Alpha list. |

Rep Power: 60 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alpha The first list is much better at shooting, and seems better at combat, too. It's gonna be a very close match, either way, but in the end, the first wolf list is better at shooting, which will most likely turn the tide.

I am voting List Beta. Why? Because the army is faster than List Alpha, and since this is Secure and Control, I put my trust in all those bikes and Drop Pods. In a head-on fight, List Alpha would win though. As long as list Beta would use good tactics and terrain, I think the latter one would win. Fluff vote goes to List Beta. I find it just a little more Wolf Strategy than in List Alpha. The hammer and anvil strategy of the securing drop pods and the ramming bikes did it for me. Greetings, Wulfbanes |

I'm going to have to vote beta for a take and hold mission because, without the alpha list's rhinos the second list has better mobility to get to the objective. If we agree that many of the rhinos will be focused upon early by the beta lists firepower, then the beta list will get to the objective first to hold it with grey hunters and bikes. For the alpha lists part, they had better make sure they kill the betas vindicator and ven dread. While the blood claws are certainly more dangerous on the charge, being broekn up in their advance by losing some of the their rhinos will mean that they must assault piecemeal and in a sustained fight the grey hunters have the advantage especially if defending terrain which will help them against the alpha lists firepower.

This will indeed be a hard fight, but I think I too will give Beta the edge. That is for 1 reason. The Bloodclaws from list Alpha will have to disembark to fight. That can have two situations. 1. List Alpha does not know where the pods will land. So when the pods land they have to drive to them and disembark. On their turn the podding troops will do best to charge the disembarked Blood Claws to deny the BCs the charge. Except for the Ven Dread then who'd be in trouble. 2. When Blood Claws disembark the Bikers of the Beta list can charge them. So as long as list Beta has his troops working in concert I give them the edge. Downsides of list Beta is that the Vindicator (not a good choice in this list anyway, a Whirlwind would have been more useful, but that's beside the point) will be shot down earlier. And the LSTs won't hold out against the enemy LSTs. On top of that also comes that the tactics described above work perfectly with the mission. My vote goes to Beta Wolves. I abstend from my fluff vote, both lists are very nice and fluffy. Tai'shar |
