I want to stress to everyone that the mission means everything. He who stands the best way to score Victory Points should be the winner. He can take down the toughest of cc opponents on the charge. He also attempts to take objectives landing near it or in dire circumstances on it. The Tactical squad with the drop pod supports the librarian and his squad landing in a more dangerous position (to the enemy) and drawing more fire. They rapid fire bolters at horde things and then gets stuck in cc. They also try to take objectives. The 2 tactical squads with lascannons do their best to take down tough tanks and work their way down to less important ones. The Plasma squads move up into a fire support position. They are effective both moving and stationary. The shoot the heavily armoured troops and ones that are packed together (ex: deepstrikers). The LSTs fly around like annoying little bees. They mostly fire at the same target to be more effective and shoot at things like hordes troops unless there are none. They get the Librarian out of any trouble he might be also. The Devastators take down tanks as 4 missiles can stop even armour 14 tanks for a turn or so. If something like a marine assault squad is going to assault my troops or take an objective they will fire together and maximize effectiveness. They also use frags if necessary (close order drill IG = frags). --------------------- Blood Angels HQ: 247 Elites: 0 Troops: 789 Fast Attack: 520 Heavy Support: 295 Master of Sanctity Chaplain (Attached to Death Company): Bolt Pistol; Frag Grenades; Terminator Honors; Jump Pack Death Company: Feel No Pain; Bolt Pistols; Close Combat Weapon. Death company: Any Chaplain is given a deathcompany for free, the average is 5. Death company and the chaplain get the following special rules- Feel no pain. Death company get jump packs. Death company are base two attacks, they are armed with bolt pistols and CCWs, and thus gain another attack. On a 4+ per squad, 1 member of that squad goes to the death company, if that member is a sgt, hes armed with a power fist/sword. IF a 6 is rolled, another test is required for the squad. Simply put there will be 5 + the number of squads in the army divided by 2. In this case 4 is the most likely, for a total of 9 + the chaplain. Death company Sgts will be pulled from the scouts and tactical squads. The most likely event is that one Sgt will be pulled from the scouts and troops. There are still two more possible members pulled, one from the assault squad, and one more from the troops. Deathcompany Results: scouts 1 Sgt taken, tactical 1 Sgt taken. Assault squads, 1 member taken. The final member is equally likely to come from the scouts or the troops. Since the blood angle hopes it will come from the tactical, it will. Final results: Chaplain, 2 power fisted DC, 1 power sword DC, 6 Normal DC. Keep in mind, there is one missing scout Sgt, 2 missing Sgts from the troops, and 1 missing assault squad members. Death company count as casualties for the purposes of moral/victory points. |

The mission is cleanse, this heavily favors the more numourus and mobile blood angles. Death company selects all 2 powerweapons. The scouts can infiltrate close to the DAs lines, deploying out of LOS. It will then take two turns for them to get into asasult, (the asault squads + scouts) In those two turns the dark angles will get a maxium of two shooty phases. However, they will not get two shooty phases at every target. Example: DA go first, scouts deploy out of LOS, as does the DC and asasult squads if possible. So the DAs shoot at mostly the worthless tactical squads, and maybe pick off a few asasult squad members. Next turn, they can shoot at anything they want, but this would only be one phase of shooting at very dangerus CC scouts/Death company. Or if the Blood angles go first, they get hit with everything first turn, but charge before the second phase of shooting the next turn. Either way, basiaclly only one phase of shooting at the magorety of the important BA units. Once in CC, the scouts/deathcompany are redicoulsly superior to the DAs. The drop podding squads will be of little concearn, and can be quickly destoryed by a charging death company. Fear the darkness wont effect marines in CC. So the blood angles tanks/tactical squads can take objectives, while the other rougly 30 assault members take cut through the DAs shooty lines. Blood Angles win. |

The BA need only shoot the Land Speeders with their lascannons and then the DA will be out of units that can keep away from the assault squads and scouts. Everything else in the DA list will be assaulted. Unless there's a minimal ammount of terrain, they can't kill enough to prevent a large assault. Rep Power: 48 ![]() | blood angels -the dark angels simply cannot stop 50 CC models with a second turn charge. the speeders will go down to BA shooting, and the rest of the army will be massacred in CC.

Rep Power: 60 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Blood Angels As stated, once the land speeders are down, which will be quick, the Dark Angels dont have a very easy time at all. The assault marines and scouts can go through loads of Space Marines, and they dont have any brilliant counter-assault element. The fact that it's a cleanse simply means they deploy closer.

Once 18 odd jump pack SM start cover hopping up to the DA the only thing which can stop them is the LST's with thier mobility. As said Thelascannon ought to down the fairly flimsy vehicles. Once thats done All the DA firepower can't stop 50 c.c SM types, especialy not with infiltrate or jump packs. Blood Angels

I totally agree with the above posters, I love my dark angels, but they don't stand much of a chance against that much CC troops.. too little mobility there, and not enough High Volume firepower to take down enough to make a difference -Blood Angels win

bolding it is just the difference between a 5-0 victory and a 6-0 victory. ^_^

lol and im just going to make it a 7-0 victory. Dread will die early but the predator has a real chance of surviving the whole battle if the lascannons get tied down fast enough. That means Blood Angels will have a mobile tank to take quarters while the dark angels have nothing. Blood Angels can also infiltrate 1 scout squad out of sight into an empty corner to take it from the beginning, forcing the shooty dark angels to move to kick them out. Dark Angels simply dont have the mobility to kick Blood Angels out of their table quarter and even if blood angels didnt have the strength to kill the dark angels (which they do) they would have a 3-1 table quarter advantage. Something gives me a nasty feeling we will have that HUGE debate about orks vs Blood Angels in the grand final again... *sigh* ah well we'll get to fight again forged. Blood Angels
