Hey Y'all. As it's been briefly discussed in the VoteWar MkIV info thread, after it has finished, I will be running a votewar based on Infantry Now this may, at first sound at first slightly questionable. What counts as infantry? It would be more wise to say what counts as armour. For the votewar, the following will be ruled against. Lists may take anything to form up to a total of 1250 points. Why 1250?you might ask. Well its large enough to get some decent debates, and at the same time small enough to dis-allow the "Shock Troops" rule to be used for Tyranid Carnifexes. So the following are the main rules of VoteWar Infantry: - Nothing with an armour value - if it has an armour value, its a no-go. - Nothing with a toughness value higher than 6. some basic infantry can't hurt them, and can therefore be described as "armour" - 1250 points, which can be spent in anything else in the codex. - No harlequins. A decent list when opposing no tanks would be unstoppable to such an extent that they might as well just automatically win. - There will be a total of 16 lists - and they will be play single round elimination - obviously this is a quicker votewar than the main one. double elimination takes some time. - The mission, as always, means everything. Per game it will be randomly chosen which mission will be played. - If not enough lists are entered, I will enter a list, and if need be, a seed list to even out the numbers. - The lists have a 2 point margin of error - but try not to go over! - All rounds will last 3 days, and end 22.00 GMT. Note the difference to the regular PST, seeing as 22.00 PST would be about 5 am for me. If not later. Votes will count in the same way as usual. You must bold them, and have a good reason for voting. "For reasons stated above" simply won't do. If there is a tie, fluff votes will be accounted for. I ask that every voter puts in a fluff vote with their normal vote, once again, for simplicity. The lists should be PM'ed to me, preferebly in the same format as Caluin has used up to now (see below), and the deadline for that is Tuesday 16th of May. That leaves me time to organise them, and get the battles posted up within a few days. If you've sent a list, I WILL send a comfirmation PM to you. If you do not receive one within 2 days, consider your PM lost. In that case, simply send it again. If you dont format your list correctly, I'll do it for you. But please try. I'm not formatting 16 lists! ^_^ So just in case, it's along the lines of: Chaos Lord Mark of Nurgle; Close Combat Weapon, Plague Sword; Terminator Armour; Daemonic Essence. Or in the case of squads: Hardened Veterans [squad leader] Sergeant; Power weapon; bolt pistol [normal weapons and any upgrades] Lasguns; frag granades [special weapons] 3x Plasma gun [heavy weapons] 1x Lascannon Any questions, feel free to PM me!

sniff! not even little pansy sentinels? there are plenty of infantry harder than them, they are just so fun! but i will cope. on infantry, im assumng jump infantry is allowed? and what about vehicles that don't have an AV, such as bikes and some skimmers? other than that, no limits on FOC and slots and amount of the same troops and such? just curious. also, i didnt know carni's had a shock troop rule, need to go reread my codex. |

The pathfinders tho...thats a good question. Sine they are unique troop choices, unlike thinks like trukka boyz or raider squads which are, to my knowledge just a basic squad with required transport... I bet you could work something out if you really wanted things like pathfinders, but other wise, no should be the answer, just because of the tank needed. Oh, and I PM'd you with a question robizzle | |

Drop Pods are a no-no. I contemplated what would happen last night: Horde Guard/Nid/Ork army against a Marine army with, say, 10 drop pods (he stretches it), all with Deathwind missile launchers. See where I'm coming from? As for pathfinders, I didn't contemplate them. I'd say they would have to sit out this one. If I were to say "You can take them without the transport", that would be changing the codex - which I dont want to do. They don't get tanks for free - its that they *must* select one. Quote:
Jump Infantry, Bikes, Cavalry - all allowed. No problems with them at all. If you can find a Skimmer without an armour value (I'm struggling to think of one...) then go for it. FOC and troops and such is all basic - nothing changed. As for the Shock Troop carnifex rule, its just the one that allows you to take them as Elites choice, as long as you're playing a game of 1500 points. Spartacus - Consider your spot reserved.

I amy enter. I'll need to think of an army to use though. Don't "reserve" me a slot, but i'm deffinatly contemplating it.
