To have a bit of fun really. I’ve always liked the idea of a iyanden style space marine chapter that need to rely on its dreadnoughts to bring its self to bear on the enemy. Tactically the scouts and chappies unit make a mass infiltration if possible while the dreadnoughts give fire support/some heavy assault power. ----------------- The Arctic Foxes Space Marines (BETA) Traits: Advantages: See but don't be seen & Take the fight to them Disadvantages: Aspire to Glory & We stand alone HQ: 112 Elite: 193 Troops: 628 Fast Attack: 366 Heavy Support: 200 Reclusiarch Chaplain (attached to 7 man assault squad): Crozius; Rosarius; Bolt Pistol; Jump Pack; Bionics; Frag grenades Venerable Dreadnought: Twin-Linked Lascannon; DCCW; Storm Bolter; Tank Hunters; Venerable; Extra Armor; Smoke Launchers; Drop Pod 8x Scout squad marines: 8x Bolt pistol & CCW; Infiltrate; Move through cover 8x Scout squad marines: 8x Bolt pistol & CCW; Infiltrate; Move through cover 10x Tactical squad marines: 9x Bolt pistol & CCW; Infiltrate Veteran Sergeant w/ Bolt pistol & Powerfist 10x Tactical squad marines: 9x Bolt pistol & CCW; Infiltrate Veteran Sergeant w/ Bolt pistol & Powerfist 8x Assault squad marines: 6x Bolt pistol & CCW; 2x Plasma pistol & CCW; Meltabombs 7x Assault squad Marines: 5x Bolt pistol & CCW; 2x Plasma pistol & CCW 8x Devastator squad marines: 4x Bolter; 4x Missile Launcher |

Aye I know what you mean: I'm going to give this one to Alpha though. I just don't see very many powerfists in Beta's list, and not a lot of shooting ability either. I suspect this will come down to a brutal CC fight, and I'm not sure that Beta has enough fists, melta bombs, ect to pull of a win that way. So not so solid, but I vote for Alpha.

I vote Alpha, if the twin-linked lascannons can pop the enemy dread and every other piece of firepower is turned upon the devastators then the 5 dreads should be safe for most of the game. They can each walk off to different table quarters without fear and sit tight in them.

Well, a good rule of thump when comparing marine lists, is who's got more ACs? Thats alpha, Alpha wins. They can spread out there dreadnoughts as they walk up the field, claiming quartes. There infantry can also infiltrate into other table quarters as well. So they will have a solid footing, and it will be up to the other list to get them out, which probably wont happen. |

I'm voting Alpha as well. Beta doesn't have enough heavy weapons to deal with the Dreads, or enough melta to fend them off in CC. It would be a long and dirty fight, but Alpha will win in the end.

Rep Power: 59 ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Alpha They have 5 dreads and the other list doesn't have nearly enough heavy weapons or powerfists to deal with them. At all. A grand total of 2 powerfists. Infiltrate won't do too much because the dreads can sit back a bit to prevent any rear armour shots. The first list also has way more weapons and close combat stuff to kill marines. |
