Hey guys, For all those players who like pink colour schemes, for Marines (like me) or Tau or basically anything with a large quantity of pink best way I've found of painting them is to use the dreaded white spray, then paint the parts you want to paint with tentacle pink, I use 2 thin coats for even thin application.
Then mix up a 3:1 ratio mix of Magenta Ink to Purple Ink, it should look a similar colour to warlock purple, wash it in, this will give you the shading to help show up the cracks in armour or robes etc.
Do a highlight (slightly thicker than the one you would use for final highlights) in Tentacle pink with a slight dab of bleach bone, then final highlight stage for a 1:1 mix of Tentacle pink and Skull white, this will give a nice final highlight if its thin.
Now only downside the the white spray is that most colours like a nice black undercoat to work with, well if you get a small quantity of Chaos black on a fine brush, water it down to it acts almost like the inks, add it carefully to the cracks etc or other coloured areas, it will settle mostly in the recesses but leave a nice surace that is easily highlighted by a slow fine drybrushing action.
Remember, pink is manly these days
Also, does anyone know a good supplier of spray paints to be used for models preferably in the light "tentacle pink style" Ive a few tanks that are annoying me and I want a nice quick soloution, also does anyone know where to get the polyuthrene in clear so I can add my ink mix to it? is it the same as ronseals quick drying matt clear varnish?
Thanks, Dan.
