Enamel coated copper wire is a finely insulated copper wire.

So it's very very small you can get it at radio shack.

I'll try and get ASCII to work for me and get a design going.

Kinda like that, the straight lines being the 20 gauge copper wire, and the wrapped lines being the 32 gauge, then only having 1/16th inch spikes coming out of it.
