For some reason the yellow is not coming across as vibrant enough. It almost looks more like desert yellow. Maybe start with the darkest yellow (I think it is bad moon yellow not sure) Maybe even mix a bit of snakebite leather into the yellow for the base and build up your yellow so you get a nice even yellow. You could also take yellow ink and glaze it to further get a yellow that stands out.

Right now it does look blotchy so furter thin coats will help that. I very much agree that you should clean the figure of mold lines before assembly and painting. If possible I would even go through and fix what you have already done. It's kind of a hindsight is 20/20 kind of thing but definitely something to think about in the future. Sure it takes a bunch of extra time but if you really care about how well they are painted this little step will launch the look a hundred fold.
