Hello. my name is Mike but most people online would know me as Alcatraz. While I'm new to this fourm, I'm not new to gaming or even to Games Workshop Games. I've been playing games for about 29 years now.

I started out playing Space Hulk as my first Games Workshop game. I then moved on to Epic and 40k each time playing Chaos armies. I've spent time playing Blood Bowl and even Mighty Empires. I recently attended a rather large gaming convention called Origins with the sole intent of finding myself a spaceship battles sort of game. I found numerous different games that would fit the bill such as Babylon 5 and Silent Death but none of them really appealed to what I was looking for. Having been aware of Battlefleet Gothic, I decided to research it, even though I was pretty sure that it was no longer an active or supported game. My local game shop is an avid supporter of GW games and even he said that Battlefleet Gothic was no longer supported. To my surprise, it appears that I'm still able to acquire everything that I need to play Battlefleet Gothic and boy am I happy. I really like the miniatures for the game and for me that's half the battle in itself. Now I just need to get all of the local 40k players to at least play some Battlefleet with me.

Besides the above mentioned games, I've been a big player of Mage Knight, Dungeons and Dragons Minis, Star Wars minis, almost every role playing game imaginable, Zombies!!!(one of my favorite beer and pretzels games) and nearly any other sort of game that's been around in the last 20 years or so. It looks like I'll be trying to compete in the new professional circuit for the game called Dreamblade, but for fun I am going to immerse myself in Battlefleet Gothic. I'm just now trying to acquire the basic set and a chaos fleet and as much literature on the game as I can download and print out to read.

So, if anyone has any advice for me regarding Battlefleet Gothic or any resources that you think I can use, by all means, please let me know!
