2 good tactics are
Honestly RTB's are only good for jezzails and stuff.
1) Flames of the phoenix (and hunt engineers with eagles to reduce dispelling power).
2) charge with a big block of spearmen and 2 or 3 chariots. That will break him.
Chariots is the only way you can take him on. You need to break on the charge. I suggest 4 chariots since you usually lose 1 or 2 to shooting.
