I think you will have the Tacticals more as a fire support and objective holders with the weapons you have given to them! The first squad with the Flamer = 196 pts and the second with the Melta = 200 pts.

Assault squads without Jump Packs! Good idea but you have to use the cover and correctly positioned fire support to make their way into CC... so this team is up to 131 pts with this config!

It is more than 1000 pts. Needs some work but against some armies if you can stand the long shooting and get into CC (I am thinking Tau here) you can beat them!
