Teceo-Secundus (RPG in the Underhive of the 41st Millennium)

We had a cool RPG going a few years ago called Teceo-Secundus. I thought it was time to restart it.

Welcome to Teceo-Secundus. A corrupt Hive World set in the grim darkness of the 41st millenium. It is a lawless world held in an iron grip by the Imperium of Man.

The rules for this RPG are simple. Create a character and venture into the Underhive. You can play any character you want but there are a few rules to keep everything fluffy (the idea of an Imperial Fist Terminator sergeant roaming around the underhive is not very likely)...

The rules:
-I am the game master. I will control major events and I will be running the story (don't worry.. I've done this before and I've got a great plot... )
- Humans only (gang members, civilians, mutants, cultists etc.)
- You must post a short bio of your character in your first post.
- Do not kill another player's character without their permission.
- The more roleplaying the better. Remember, it's more important for the average hive inhabitant to survive than to run around blasting everyone. Also, try to give your character some 'flaws'. Maybe they have a drinking problem or are really a chicken when it comes to fighting?
- Interact with other players.
-To keep all characters in the same area to start off with, everyone must start their story in the Black Dock Inn (Read the Story Intro).

Teceo-Secundus

Description:
The hive world of Teceo-Secundus is located in the inner rim of Ultima Segmentum. It is the second of nine planets in the Teceo System. Its nearest neighbour Teceo-Primus is also a hive world. Teceo-Secundus was colonised approximately 20,000 years ago. It was a very warm planet and quickly became a civilised world with much industry managed by several families or Houses, as they were known. The government of Teceo-Secundus was run by a senate represented by each of the major Houses However, the growing progress soon led to its demise as pollution filled the atmosphere with toxic gasses rendering the planet inhospitable. Hive cities were constructed and living conditions became terrible. Industry, however, continued and massive factories specked the desolate plains. Then, about 1,500 years ago, a political conflict sprang up between the two most powerful Houses, House D'Alonzo and House Teelbach. The conflict soon developed into open war, which lasted for over twenty years. In this time nine hive cities had been left in ruins and millions of people were dead or homeless. Thousands of refugees from the ruined cities fled to the remaining cities and this worsened living conditions dramatically.
The House War, as it is known, had not gone unnoticed and soon the Imperium was involved. The victorious of the two Houses, House Teelbach, had taken complete control of Teceo-Secundus after the war and closed the Senate. This resulted in the arrival of several legions of Imperial forces commanded by Admiral-Commissar Bittro. They fought House Teelbach and took control of the planet and Teceo-Secundus has been a strict Imperial military dictatorship ever since.
The Houses, now without control of the industry, now act as independent businesses - which are not always legal - and work in the underground of the hive cities.

House Teelbach:
House Teelbach is the most powerful of the Houses in Teceo-Secundus. After having been robbed of power by the Imperium they turned to organised crime. They are now present in every hive city on the planet and they take whatever opportunity they can to blackmail, kill and sabotage the Imperial government who they feel have stolen the power from them. They are the main dealers of illegal weapons on the planet and they have many servants and 'soldiers' in the cities.
The Teelbach mentality is ice cold and apart from fighting local Imperial forces they spread terror among the civilians of Teceo-Secundus hive cities.

House D'Alonso:
After having been all but annihilated by the Teelbachs during the House War, House Alonso have regained a position of relative legitimacy within the administration of Teceo-Secundus. Their fine-tuned diplomatic skills and their sense of industry and economy have granted them favour in the eyes of the Imperial governour who subsequently has inducted many high-ranking D'Alonsos into the government. The Teelbachs see this as the most unacceptable of all...

Sex: Male

Appearance: 176cm. Greasy blond hair. A few teeth missing. Jaco wears the regular leathery outfit of a Hive World occupant.

Occupation: He has no steady job and works randomly as a henchman or thief for the different Houses in the city.

Weapons: Jaco has an autopistol and an IG combat knife that he has stolen

Beliefs: He is something of an Atheist but knows that he must praise the Emperor to avoid trouble...

History: Jaco was born and raised on Teceo-Secundus. He is an orphan as his parents were killed in a gang war when he was
five. Since then he's made his living by running errands for the different Houses and gangs and stealing wherever possible..

Carl Jaco gulped down another oil-beer and wiped the foam from his
mouth. He looked around at the filthy bar and wondered if he was ever
going to get off this planet. He gestured to the bartender to give
him a refill and threw a coin on the bar.
The mumbling of the bar became quiet as the metallic sound of an
Imperial sentinel clanked passed the bar. When the sound faded the
mumbling began again.
Jaco spat on the floor. Unrest had sprung up in this neighbourhood
again. There had already been seven executions this week and there
was bound to be more. Rumours of some new cultist uprising were also circulating
and morale was low.
He sighed and grabbed his beer. Whatever was going to happen around
here Jaco didn't want to be a part of it.
"Damned planet.." he muttered to himself as he took a sip of the warm
oil-beer...

Name: Alrech VanHessen

Age: 22

Sex: Male

Appearance: 172cm and 164lbs, Alrech is a slim man, lacking definition in his muscles. Often mistaken for a weakling amongst the underhive, he has fought off several of his ravenous neighbors and has the scars (and a tough left cross) to prove it.

Occupation: Alrech is an awol teelbach soldier. An informant and a mercenary, he survives the only way he's known how.

weapons: two over-charged Necromunda-pattern Laspistols a Stiletto and 2 short daggers

beleifs: Alrech is a "pious agnostic of the Imperial Creed" as he would say. He invokes his faith for favors and protection but also feels it can turn a blind eye to his shadier activities

history: pressganged into Teelbach's 'military' at age 12 but defected at 20. During this time, his brother was hanged by Teelback for being an Arbiter informant. Alrech was repaid for his brother's sacrifice by having his beloved abducted by an Imperial Officer to act as his concubine.

Alrech pulled the stiletto out of the mans ribs as he let him slump to the ground behind the trash-bins outside the Inn. He was hungry, and tired, but he didn't let it effect his actions. He rolled the man over and saw the typical gang-markings of House Teelbach. He rummaged the man's pockets, finding some coin and small phials of narcotic. He left the narcotic undisturbed but took the credits. He took two powercells for a laspistol and then donned the man's large overcoat and light-filter-goggles.
He stood and quietly opened the Inn's back door and inserted himself into the dull roar and thick air inside. As the door closed behind him, an Imperial Sentinel stalked by outside- a noisy and ineffectual display of force. Reaching into the pocket he found a room key with a sloppy signature signed to it. Walking past the desk towards the stairs to his room, he displayed the key to the innkeeper.
"I am this man" he said to the innkeeper.
If the innkeeper knew his lie, he didn't seem to care, only nodded "room 17" he said.

Jaco stretched and moved towards the bar for a refill. A large-breasted girl laughing in the corner caught his eye and he bumped into the newcomer knocking them both over.

"Watch where you're going," said Jaco even though it was entirely his fault. He had no problem acting tough in here. The kid looked like he would snap in a gentle wind even though his scars did seem out of place.

Apperance: Dark-skinned, muscled, 6 foot 5, 207 pounds

Occupation: A former Imperial Guardsman Sergeant, his Legion was destroyed in a battle against the Tau. Now he ventures the Galaxy as a Mercenary, making money through his cruel job.

Wepons: Lawbringer Shotgun, Frag Grenades, various knives, is known to have a Chainsaw.

Beliefs: Believes strongly in the Emperor.

History: A former Imperial Guardsman Sergeant, his Legion was destroyed in a battle against the Tau. Now he ventures the Galaxy as a Mercenary, making money through his cruel job.


Brelak stared at the two men squabbling like chickens, as relaxed as can be. As he ordered another cigar, he waited for the outcome of the fight.

Alrech's hand slowly unclenched around the knife in his pocket. He cursed himself for letting his gaurd down enough that some... oaf, could run into him like that. There were only two choices, either pick his pockets, or be ready to fight. But this man was so weak willed that he had allowed himself the same lapse of attnetion, for something as trivial as a girl. Albeit a pretty one. There would be no fighting here. So the knife slid deeper into his pocket. The coin however, he held onto. Put it into a pouch on an overcoat.
Stepping back he straightened his personal affects, and looked at the man who had so carelessly trodden on his foot, and then back at the woman. He pulled the stoled coin out of his pocket and tossed it to the man
"buy her a drink and atleast let your carelessness count for something"
with that he turned around- not without noticing a man in IG dungarees- and glided up the stairs to his room for some rest.

The newcomer's reaction took Jaco completely by surprise. Buy the girl a drink?
He stared at the man for a second and then roared with laughter.

"I like you, buddy!" he said, slapping him on the shoulder, "Here, let me get YOU a drink. That girl isn't worth more than a drink anyway. So what's your story?"

As he spoke, he signaled to the bartender for two oil-beers.

"This stuff is crap but at least it will get you wasted. Emperor's blood! I've had a few hangovers, trust me!"

Brelak stood.

"I'll have an Ultima Lichor, bartender," fishing out some credits out of his pockets and flipping them onn the table, sitting down next to Jaco.

"So where you from?" he asked Jaco.

Alrech looked at the man and managed a grin. Removing his goggles he sat took the proferred beer and sat down.
"Ach, my story's a long one. Not much rougher than anyone else's in this place- brother hanged by Teelbachs, woman taken by Imperial dogs. I've got enough blood on my hands to run the Golden Toilet for till the 42nd millenium- but it's a living isn't it?"
Alrech talked with the man for a little while more while he finished his drink. The man was company, and it was either the beer or the hospitality speaking but Alrech thought he was atleast worth a few words. He bought another round for the two of them.
"My older brother and I were out collecting scrap one day and got snagged up by Teelbach thugs. It wasn't my first scar, but you don't forget a knife to the throat" with that he pulled on the collar of his shirt, exposing a wickedly jagged scar that started just above his collar bone and streaked down into the depths of the tunic.
"either way, they took us, and beat us into some semblance of obedience. We got pressganged. Our first fight they didn't even give us a firearm, just a piece of pipe each. We made it, made it for a couple of years. My brother kept us both alive in the barracks with the money he got for selling the pigs out to the arbiters. They got wise though, our patrols never saw arbiters like the others did. One morning the dragged him out into the middle of their shanty-town and hung him from a piece of barbed wire." Alrech shuddered at the memory and gulped down his beer.
"needless to say, next patrol i was on I knifed the lead guy, took his spot, and walked us straight to the arbiters. Got 'em all killed right there. All but me. The deal was i'd get off without a scratch but even the damned Imperials can't keep their word. I fought my way out of it and ran back to my girl's.
"a few months after I got there though, they came looking for me- the imperials. Teelbach had been hunting me daily of course. I was out, looking for some money to feed us with, and when she didn't tell them where i was they dragged her away. Neighbor said the officer in charge had taken a fancy to her. He didn't want to 'intervene'. He's dead now too by the way" Alrech looked at the dry bottom of his mug and turned to the man,
"So, what're you in this trash-heap for?"

"I was a Seargent in the Tau Wards a few years back. We lost almost 90% of our force in the Attack of Grun'shi. So the rest of our force retreated through the Warp to the Ultima Sector, where some sort of Metallic Tomb Ship, made from some weirdo can things called Necrons, apparently, attacked us. It easily grounded us, and Pride of Gret went down, but not before i got in an escape pod and landed on this dump of a planet. Now, I'm working as a mercenary to get some credits in my pockets." he answered, gulping down the frothy liquid that gave him a warm feeling in side him. Ultima Liquor did that to him. Then, he downed the tankard of Oil-Beer and asked the greasy blond haired man the question, "Who're you?"
