Anyone here sides me think there is a connection between Khaine and Khorne? The ones from Warhammer Fanatsy, not 40k that is for a different discussion.
The only thing they have in common is that they both deal in death.
Khaine is the god of murder and undead.
Khorne is the God of Hate, Rage, Blood, War and Killing.
Thats about all I know, if anyone else has any more input, Id like to hear it also.
Well Khaine is a war god also to High elves, He has just degenerated to a god of murder in Druchii society. Makes you wonder if Khorne and Khaine are seperate and Slannesh hasn't perverted the Khaine worship. Since cold blooded murder is Slannesh's department
Yes, I forgot about that. Khaine is the god of war to the High Elves, and the god of murder to the Dark Elves, and the god of war to both. Khorne is the god of war, death, rage, and so on and so forth, to just the so called humans, right? Or do the High and Dark elves follow him as well?
Well that's the thing, Khaine and Khorne may be the same entity, thats what statred this thread
I know, I dont have an argument whether they are the same or not. I think they are, but I dont have any way to prove it.
While were talking about gods, I have a question. Its kind of off topic, but is there an actual book of morr, or is it just something GW made up?
Khaine is worshipped by the High Elves as the god of Battle, by the Dark Elves as the god of Blood and Murder, and by the Humans of the Empire as the god of undeath. In High Elf Society he is worshipped strictly during times of strife and battle as he is seen as an exceptionally bloody god and that to worship him during peacetime is wildly inappropriate and dangerous. In Dark Elf society he is the entire state religion of Nagarroth and all lands that fall under the Wytch King's domain. Therefore, many holidays are devoted to his worship where widespread killing and sacrifice of both elves and their prisoners occur. In the Old World, he is worshipped by the humans of the Empire as a seperate deity from Morr, but still a god of death. He is considered to be the younger brother in a way to Morr where he constantly tries to steal the souls of those who would normally pass through Morr's gates. To do this, he must have souls sacrificed directly to him, or he must scavenge them from unburied and unproperly buried corpses.
Khorne, on the other hand, is not worshipped by any of the three societies that worship Khaine. The High Elves constantly strive for the destruction of Chaos entirely, including Khorne, and would never steep to worshipping him for the own gains. The Humans of the empire are constantly in a state of war with the norse and the followers of chaos further north, being the victims of countless raids against their lands. Therefore, most humans view Khorne as seeking only their death and would rather die defending their lands against his minions then to join them. The Dark Elves simply see Khorne as a brutish and insane god that does not even compare to the intricacies of Khaine's worship and power.
Although there are references to Khaine being possibly Khorne, it is not likely as no one who worships one of these deities would ever conceive worshipping the other even if they were the same god to begin with.
In my honest opinion, there is no way that they are one and the same.
Well I believe Khorne is far more poerful than the Dark Elves version of khaine. That is ios the god of murder and blood, he isn't a warrior like his high elf counterpart. The high elf khaine is a god of battle. Dark Elf Khaine is a god of mindless slaughter, which is more alligned with Slannesh than anything. You notice the murder facet of khaine does not appear until Anerion's fall. I believe the Dark Elves khaine is not the true khaine. It is entirely possible that it's, now open your mind on this one, a facet of Slannesh, why else would the cult of pleasure be allowed? Why hasn't the Cult of Khaine done something about it? Malekith may be protecting his mother morathai, but there is a limit. If he truly wants to reclaim the throne of Ulthuan he will need to dump this pleasure cult. For all we know this is punishment from the HE Khaine. Malekith has gone soft on Slannesh and therefore not worthy to rule all the Asur.
New thought, if khaine and khorne are seperate, could you imagine the two fighting each other?
Dark elf Khaine and High elf Khaine are the same person. Khaine is not the god of war, murder, death ect but the god of pure unchained violence. The high elves see him as a small part of themselves (kind of ying and yang stylee) while the dark elves embrace said violence willingly.
Khorne and Khaine can't be the same as Khaine was around before choas (and so Khorne) entered the warhammer world.
. "Stop complaining ponce and hit stuff with yer shiny new axe"
Who came first doesnt matter. Khaine could have been adopted by Chaos and renamed Khorne.
