how many DE black arks are there?
and what black arks are mentioned in cannon other than the new heros black ark( the squid head guy)
There are quite a few mentioned in fluff: There is the Fist of Malekith in Warhammer Online, and Nemesis. Obviously Lokhir's Tower of Blessed Dread, and the Citadel of Spite which was where Mangil Manhide was based...
There are also the Citadel of Damnation and Jade Palace of Pain which were beached at Anlec to provide Malekith's army with a core base after the War of the Beard leaves the High Elves weakened. Not sure if these were refloated afterwards...
The new codex also lists the Citadel of Desolation, the Fortress of Eternal Torture and the Tower of Oblivion. Since it doesn't say how many Black Arks there are, you could totally make up your own. One could even write a name generator for them if so inclined.
[Citadel|Tower|Fortress|Haven|Keep] of [()|Total|Eternal|Dark|Ominous|Numinous|Black|Blessed|Cursed] [Malice|Hatred|Envy|Fear|Loathing|etc.]...
I did some rough numbers on my old Glittering Tower website many years ago, reckon that there would be no more than a couple of dozen Black Arks..
Certainly there would be fewer Black Arks than Dragonships, and given that the Athel Tamara was burnt down by Dark Elves, and no new Dragonships are being built, and looking at their equivalents in 19th century - late "full-swing" WW2 Royal Navy strength (counting them as Men O'War or senior capital ships > Battlecruiser strength) I postulated that there would be more than 30-40 Dragonships (roughly equivalent to Battleships and Fleet Carriers - as they can carry Eagle riders and Dragon riders).
