    Here is a thought

How come you don't hear of chaos (especially khorne) going at it with orcs fluffwise? The only major fluff bout between those two as far as I know, is the storm of chaos when Crom beat Grimgor and then Grimgor humiliated Archaon. You would think with the chaos gods embarrased by that green thug Grimgor, they'd want some payback.

Perhaps it's just that GW focus on the human empire, as its the easiest mindset to get into and to write for.

Plus Orcs seem to only go to war in a major way when the assemble in a gigantic horde. Hunting down small clusters of Orcs might not just be worth it.

Isn't the human empire closest to the Northern Wastes anyway? Must be just that Chaos is lazy!

Because the Orcs think it would be more fun to see how many bullet-holes they have to have shot into them, than to actually do hth combat.

Seriously though, I'm not too sure. I guess because the tribes of chaos tend to steer pretty clear of the mountains.

The two forces do go at it a huge amount (especially Khorne)...the problem is that 90% of both forces are as unsubtle as an axe to the face.

The battles and indeed campaigns would be fairly boring to read about....

Khorne Champion gathers a variety of beastmen, mutants and Trolls to his warband and marches into Orc country.

Finds and slaughters a succession of Orc tribes. Eventually the Orcs mount a counter attack and drive the Khorne champion out the mountains/kills him.

The Orcs decide to counter attack to "get da freaky gitz"

Orc warboss gathers a variety of Orcs, goblins, and Trolls to his warband and marches into [insert direction where Khorne warband came from]. The Orcs slaughter a succession of beastmen tribes. Eventually the forces of Chaos drive the Orc Warboss out/kill him.

A Champion of Chaos decides to launch a counter attack to"punish the greenskins for their desecration of the Temples of Chaos"

The Champion of Chaos gathers a variety of.....(repeat as necessary)

orcs are the hand of god in the warhammer universe, they always act as a balancing force--- waagh's destroyed vampire cities, nagash, chaos, and pretty much every army on earth at one time or another has faced a waaagh

and warhammer openly states that there is no mightier force on the world than a full orc waagh at full juice ; they can stomp a mud hole in anything, they simply dont care about anything but fighting.

I think they serve a good function, and chaos or no chaos orcs will fight --- they dont care who.
