When did this happen?
Just wondering if someone could direct me to the source which says Teclis has weakened Malekith's magical power? If he has, cannot seem to find it.
Quite embarressing actually...

5000p. High Elves
I do remember that Malekith had to "ESCAPE" from teh Battle of Finuval Plain, before bolt of pure energy from Teclis hit him...However, I'm not sure what impact this had on Malekith. In OLD rules, Wizards could somehow escape in a bubble of reality into the realm of Chaos for a short time, and use the raw energy to recover their wounds and heal themselves until they were ready to come back onto the battlefield.
As to whether Malekith has been weakened by this, maybe, but I wouldn't like to speculate on teh source - sorry!
This was exactly what I was wondering about. Thanks for the quick reply!
5000p. High Elves
Yeah that's what Malekith was forced to do when Teclis attacked him. He had to cast himself into the realm of chaos to avoid death but like kithre said the fluff doesn't speculate as to whether Malekith was weakened by this on his return.
EDIT: the source of the fluff was the high elf army book in the battle for Finuval Plain story which i think is in the fluff before the profiles for Tyrion and Teclis

Only the weak tell tales of how strong they are...
It is in the current book, and the first time it was published was around 1993, I believe, in the 1st print of a High Elves army book, and the White Dwarf releases for the first Tyrion and Teclis.
I can't see as it makes much difference if he was. Malekith is stronger than Teclis anyway, it's just that Teclis can tap into the natural magical power in Ulthuan (although that's just theory )
Malekith may be a mighty sorceror, though I doubt he's a Caledor Dragontamer, but teclis is oft quoted as being the greatest living sorceror in WHFB, and possibly even on par with Nagash. Malekith ergo, being living (just) cannot be as powerful a sorceror as Teclis.
Teclis is probably weaker than Caledor and some of the other mages on the Isle of the Dead, but unless the Vortex is unravelled and they are released (bad times for everyone!!) they can never leave
However, given that magic was much easier to manipulate before and during the first Great War against Chaos, maybe Teclis would be their equal after all..
I doubt any mage save for Kroak and 1st-2nd generation Slann is as powerful or more so than Caledor. As for Fluff from the HE and DE books, It's pretty obvious there is a biased in the books as they tell their version of the story, both of which contains fact as well as exageration. (I play HE but I won't say that The HE have the complete truth, nor DE) Just like the war of the beard. Drawfs tell a different story than HE and DE have their own version which is odd since they didn't take part. I honestly don't think Malekith was weakened that much if at all. Dark magic is pretty potent an most HE if not all HE mages do not use the full power of magic for fear of what might happen as a consequence. Teclis proabbly had the Finuval plane as the only time he ever used his powerd to full.
Sides I think If Malekiths powers were ever truely weakened, it would have been when he tried to walk into the eternal flame and the flame didn't like him.
