This is something I did long time ago in 40k. I was missing around with themes for my army and I thought it would be fun to have a theme song to play before a battle. As a result I came up with
"Mad World" - Gary Jules (From Donnie Darko) for my Witch Hunter army.
So now I want to do the same for Fantasy. So tell me your army and a theme song that would fit for them. Of course tell us why you chose it.
"Ah, but the truth is like an expensive whore, Jerek. She comes in many dresses and will bend over for any with the money to pamper her." ~ Konrad von Carstein
Sure- i'll be the first to reply to this one. I have a few armies though so some of them get music, and others don't.
Empire Rebels of Cloavre- 'Irish Fiddle Song' by the Dubliners: I like the song, and while I'd go with something by the Dropkicks, or FloggingMolly's, none of it really fits the period or the style of the army. IFS is just fast enough to rousing, but almost sounds like something you'd hear in a movie as they march towards the enemy.
Warriors of Chaos (Slaanesh)- 'Passion's Killing Floor' by HIM: "It's poetry carved in flesh" is the first line, the chorus goes "My heart's a graveyard baby, and to evil we make love, on our passion's killing floor, in my arms you won't sleep safely, and of lust we are reborn, on passion's killing floor" there's also a really plodding, heavy section with a bell and hammering guitars that would make an awesome cut-scene for some huge champion striding through the carnage.
High Elves (Caledore)- 'The Trooper' by Iron Maiden: I usually listen to calmer, more classical music, or acoustic music, but my army has always featured high numbers of cavalry, and this song is all about a cavalry charge, so on the turn that the lances drop, i love to hear the "galloping" motif of the guitars in the beginnings. It drives me crazy with excitement
Goblins (WIP)- 'Here it Goes Again' by OK Go: Not entirely militaristic in nature or even particularly 'inspiring' but it fits the goblin penchant for random BAD stuff totally throwing a spanner in the works.just reminds me of errant Fanatics or a gobbo-munching Squig bounding through the wrong lines. Of failed animosity or miscasts, poorly cast nets and tripping giants. Most commonly used phrase in the whole battle "I shoulda known"
"Just when you think that you're in control,
just when you think that you've got a hold,
just when you get on a roll,
here it goes, here it goes, here it goes again.
Oh, here it goes again.
I should have known,
should have known,
should have known again,
but here it goes again.
Oh, here it goes again."
For my High Elves, Moonlight Sonata by Beethoven, I feel it's actually very fitting as they seem weak and gloomy, a dying race, but suddenly they show their more aggressive side on the battlefield.
To those of you who have no idea what I'm talking about then listen to the starts of the 1st and 3rd movement of the Moonlight Sonata on youtube.
For my Vampire Counts, Bloodline by Slayer, 'nuff said.
For my Eldar, Symphony of Destruction by Megadeth, 'nuff said.

5000p. High Elves
Tomb Kings - Demigod By Behemoth
Warriors of Chaos - Treasonous by Bloodbath
Listen to them and you'll see why.
and agreed on Moonlight Sonata it's perfect for a high elf army.
2010 WoC Cav W/L/D - 7/3/1
I gotta go with Skinned by Blind Melon.
A youth with his first cigar makes himself sick; a youth with his first girl makes other people sick. - Mary Wilson Little
WoC: Raining Blood by Slayer (My only FB army.)
CSM: Decimate the Weak by Winds of Plague
SM biker force (WIP): Thunderhorse by Dethklok
Tau: tough one, maybe some techno-rock like Dope Stars Inc.
Honestly though, the entirety of the 41st Millennium strikes me as appropriate for some Dimmu Borgir, or other heavy metal with symphonic elements.
"It takes a vast amount of self control to be this dangerous."

Tomb Kings - I get knocked down - Chosen before the vampires were redone in such horrid style and showed their fellow undead brothers up.
Lizardmen - Ace of spades - I chose this because it sums up the aggresive, risky nature of the all-saurus army i field - i either win, or i crash and burn...
My WoC either Numb or In the end by linkin park. i Just imagine this song as theyre fighting for theyre lives in combat, and Khorne just laughing at them not bothered who dies, as long as blood is spilt so im guna go with In the End - Linkin park
Oh i just thought of the film version of it here it goes
A chaos lord leading his army into battle, they all surge forward , he gets arrow after arrow in him and he still keeps fighting, he eventually falls to his knees and he see's khorne pointing at him, laughing, mocking him even.
If use have heard In The End you'll picture this and the song in the exact same way as i have so just listen to it google it or sumtin

Never argue with an idiot, they drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
well when im playing my TK armies i have two songs i generally listen too in my head.
at the start of the battle...
Get out Alive
Three Days Grace i just envision the army raising from the sand and begin its steady march with the king calling up more all around him.
and as thigns start to heat up and charges are declared it just has to be "Into the Arena" by Masterplan. just utter chaos and destruction for the sheer love of doing it. bones n blood flying everywhere.
