Sarith was born in Har ganeth to parents he never met. He was orphaned, but accepted at a young age into the executioners. Here he perfected his skills with the draich.
Sarith is arrogant, charismatic and efficient. When fighting, it is rare that an opponent will last past Sarith's initial rush. If they do, Sarith tends to "play" with them. When an opponent has skill enough to defend from Sarith’s rush, Sarith will aim to humiliate them. He avoids inflicting fatal wounds; rather he will throw in a cut here and a slice there, which will result with his opponent in pain and off balance.
After serving for thirteen years in the executions, Sarith was recruited into the blackguard by one of Malekith's blackguard master's. Here Sarith perfected his defensive skills. It was not long until his reputation reached Malekith personally. As all blackguard, Sarith swore his undying devotion to Malekith. He was rewarded with lands and wealth beyond the imagination of mortals, but did not care for them.
During a tournament between towers, Sarith made fool of a tower master. He drew out the battle deliberately. By the end, his opponent had bled to death and Sarith had not a cut on him. This infuriated that tower, but impressed Malekith.
Sarith requested that he be allowed to lead a raid on an ulthuan port. Sarith does not know what happened, but remembers only waking on the ulthuan shore, his vessel wrecked, and his crew dead.
Sarith found a surviving horse, loaded it with supplies and set upon his way. Alone he lived for several years. He often traded with the high elves and grew accustomed to their ways. He would work as a hired killer, bodyguard or enter arenas when he was in need of money.
Eventually he fell in love with a young Asur female called Shari. She didn't ask questions about his past which suited him. She was a sorceress of the light and served as the port's healer. Through their years together Sarith learned about honour, love and happiness. All traits he had not known existed as a youth.
Malekith had sent a lord out to find Sarith. He suspected this lord of treason and wanted him dead. What better way than to send him out, on dragon's back, to retrieve someone who was dead.
The lord eventually reached the little port Sarith had called his home. By this time, he had grown tired of searching and had taken to just destroying the villages and ports.
Felrius Blackheart was the lord's name. He was riding upon a very young dragon called Samael. Samael may not be very large compared to other dragons, but for what he lacked in size he made up with speed and ferocity.
Sarith entered the town's flaming centre in his druchii armour, wielding his Draich.
"Druchii, I challenge you! Dismount that dragon!"
Felrius laughed when he saw Sarith approaching. He knew it was Sarith, but also knew Sarith sealed his fate. A blackguard without even a last name challenging a Dark elf nobel.
Felrius leaped off Samael, and was met by Sarith's fierce attack. Barely able to draw his twin blades, he was soon backed against a wall. Back against the wall, he feigned left, but jumped to the right. Unfortunately for him, he was met by Sarith's Draich.
Upon the lord's death, Samael let loose a bone chilling howl. Malekith was his master, but Felrius was his to kill. He came at Sarith at full flight, claws and teeth ready to destroy him.
Sarith knew he had no chance at escape. And instead readied himself. He side stepped as Samael flew into the wall stained with Felrius' blood. The dragon came to its senses, rose to its full height and turned only to find Sarith's draich imbedded deep within his chest. Sarith leaped to the ground nimbly, leaving his sword.
Samael, underestimated but still not defeated, Pinned Sarith to the ground with one of his large taloned feet and unleashed flames hot enough to melt steel. Samael then collapsed as his left legs buckled.
Shari ran out of their house, crying, knowing that Sarith was as good as death. She knew only of one way to save him and it would mean her death. She cast the spell, sacrificing herself, to combine the dragon's soul wit Sarith's. The last thing she saw was Sarith's body regenerating its fiery wounds.
Sarith woke up several days later. His armour had been taken off him and laid next to his bed, his draich lent against a chair.
Sarith knew what had happened. He knew what Shari had done. He would have his revenge. He now knew what he would call himself.
To this day, Sarith protects the coast from dark elf raiders. His reputation precedes him, most raiders fleeing without even an engagement. In reality Sarith leads a terrible life. Forced to contain his anger, hatred and vengeance taught to him so long ago by his mentors. For when these emotions take hold, Samael is released. Samael cannot directly control Sarith, but influences his actions through manipulation. While Samael is released, Sarith's reflexes and strength are doubled and he regenerates almost any wound. Samael can control Sarith during Sarith's unconsciousness.
Sarith is still arrogant, charismatic and efficient. He has adopted many High elven traits. He also appreciates female company, but does not commit.
This is the fluff for an AoD character I am entering guys, C and C more than welcome, but he is already submitted!
I quite like the story behind this guy. Very nice - kind of a 'no-one is beyond redemption' vibe, with a bit of tragedy and revenge thrown in for good measure!
Also, if I was to nitpick, I just noticed it may be better if Sarith 'knew what Shari had done' as opposed to him knowing what she had 'down'
Don't know if there are any other typos as I wasn't really reading it to check for them, but I just happened to see that one.
