    New Warhammer Race!!

    Because of the scarcity of Warhammer Fantasy Players in the Rules Development section I have started this threadto draw attention to my new warahammer Fantasy Army, the Insectoid's

    Here is a sample of fluff and units...

    Why Collect a Insectid Army?

    The Insectids are a fast, hard hitting army able to call on a myriad of specialist troops such as the nimble Mantis and Dragonflies, or the amazingly strong Tunnelers. Such versatility is one of the greatest assets of the Huq'inset.

    The Insectid's


    The true origins of the Insectid's are shrouded in mystery, with accurate accounts practically non existent within the Empire. A Insectid's life is often much shorter than a mans often only surviving for 20 years at most. This often causes a vaulting ambition within individuals, pushing them onto great feats of valor and bravery; all for the Hive and the Empire.

    It also means that all the individuals who survived the Great Catastrophe have passed on, unable to document their experiences and knowledge of the event because of their short lifespans. In addition Insectid's do not place much value on the past, instead constantly striving for a better future for all. Centuries of events have never been recorded instead being passed down via word of mouth. Only the Slann know of their true origins for all recordings begin at the Great Catastrophe. This point in time is even known as 0 on their calender.

    The Insectid's were being perfected when the Old Ones fled the world. They were promising;a race of great leaders and dreamers. They lived in great hives with millions of individuals teeming within their thick woven walls. The material being used for the walls is as strong as any form of masonry and curved to help deflect projectiles launched at it. Such promise was washed away when the deamons came. In an instant the unrelenting wave of gibbering monstrosities destroyed hundreds of the Insectid's hives. Millions died in the cataclysm and the remaining hives (all which were built in secluded and hard to reach locations) sealed themselves from the outside world for hundreds of years. Not one knew of their existence and the Slann believed them to be all wiped out during the Great Catastrophe. They were wrong.

    Queen's are Level 3 wizards that may use spells from either the Lore of the Hive, Lore of Life, or Lore of Beasts

    Special Rules

    Awe-Inspiring Presence: all units within 12" gain the Stubborn universal special rule and may re-roll failed leadership tests.

    Power of the Hive: The Queen gains extra power dice if in a unit, equal to the units rank bonus to a maximum of +3 power dice. These dice may be used by the Queen to cast spells and may cause miscasts and irresistable force as normal. (only when attached to a Warrior or Chamber Guard).

    Gaurdians: When joined to a unit of Chamber Gaurd the Queen is always placed in the second rank.See pg. 41 of Lizardmen rulebook for further deatails of how to handle this. The Queen may act as normal (she may cast spells, use magic items , act as general, army banner bearer etc.). The Queens line of sight is worked out as if the Queen is a Large Target.

    *Note: still don't have a really good reason for how she can rise up and go back down into the Chamber guard yet so any ideas would be great!!!
