I just got the collected volumes of the Liber Chaotica plus a section of Chaos Undivided. It is the most astoundingly comprehensive tome about Chaos in theory and in practice, the followers of the Archenemy, the Immaterium, and the nature of the Gods. Has anyone else read these? I already had the one on Tzeentch but this is a true masterpiece. I never realised how much had gone into conceptualizing Chaos. It is mostly fantasy but there are very interesting parts on 40K too.
“Cry ‘Havoc’ and let slip the dogs of war! - Julius Caesar, Act III, Scene I
I have make the mistake to buy the collected Liber Chaotica books, the reason that i call it a mistake is that i have allready have the 4 (Khorne, Slaanesh, Nurgle, and Tzeentch one) and i think the Undivided is not worth the price, for one simple reason, it concetrate the index of the book around Belakor and the Archaon. But anyway, for someone that dont allready have the 4 seperate books (or he/she missing some of the 4) it will be a quick way to gather them all. Beyond that, there is no doubt that the liber chaotica is the best chaos fluff books you can found (Of course the best books are the 2 Realm of Chaos books that now is out of print sadly).
MEAT IS MURDER
It have all the seperate ones too, I got them on their release. And I agree, they're full of fluff and a very good read.
I'm not a big fluff fan for 40k and even less so for fantasy. Probably because fantasy has the ridiculous tendency to copy too much stuff from earths past and plop it directly into the game.
That being said, however, I just couldn't resist buying the large tome of Chaos when I saw it sitting there on the shelf. I think a Slaaneshi mage cast a spell on me and made me think that the book was a beautiful woman with dark hair and pale skin.
So I'm sitting at home looking at this thing and wondering how I got it. Then I start reading it and I was fairly impressed. It's got a lot of interesting information and I really liked the book of Nurgle the best. There was only one thing about the books that really annoyed me and that was the red cursive writing that was all over the pages. It's barely legible.
Overall: It's a very good purchase and will keep you from going to Ebay and buying them seperately at ridiculous prices that people are charging for them.
I will be buying the complete edition, I take it is worth a look then ? :p I am also gutted, on ebay over the weekend was a special edition Khorne liber chaotica, with brushed steel covers and the mark laser etched onto it. I got outbid with 8 seconds left and after I had woken up with a hangover to make sure I was on when the auction ended - miffed indeedy
Helper monkey, bring me beer and donuts
Yeah i have it and have not read the whole thing cover from cover but there is a lot of good fluff in it. I like how the guy who Writes it goes from a sigmar worshiper, to a full chaos convert.
