Alright this is my first attempt at a specail character, he is a khorne based chaos lord. If any of you have read it he is the main character from my story A Tale In Blood.
Thorgat is an esspecialy tough chaos lord who is even more powerfull in combat than a regular lord.
Im not too good with points but id guess about 600 pts

He wears Chaos deamon armour and wield the Sword of the fallen kings. He also wears the Blood ruby (sorry if thats from a movie it sounds like it could be)And has the mark of khorne.
Chaos deamon armor: Thorgat wears a finly crafted suit of chaos armor however the armor has been enchanted with deamons making it more protective and tough, as well as intecepting magic and protecting its user. The armour gives him a 3+ armour save, in addition any modifyers that reduce armour (such as strenght 4 or higher) only reduce it by half (rounding down) In addition weapons that allow no armour saves lose that ability, but reduce armor regularly (ignoring the previous rule)
Sword of fallen kings: Thorgat was gifted this sword for his deeds, this sword is a source of pure evil on corrupts all it touches. The sword adds one strenght and is used weith a side arm to add one extra attack (in addition for his frenzy). In addition any moddel wounded by this sword counts as "corrupted" for the remander of the game. Any model that is corrupted counts as dead for victory points purposes, in addition he must take a leadership check each turn, if he fails he will attack his own regiment if he is in one, if hes not in a regiment he attacks his mount, if hes not mounted himself!
Blood ruby: This gem was gifted to Thorgat in the same mannor as his sword, Thorgat takes great pride in this gem and it reminds him that the blood god is watching. As a result he will become unbreakable and any squad he join will be too, it also gives him a 5+ invulnerable save.
Right. I don't know all the fluff on this character, as I am yet to read the story, but the premise of a chaos lord this powerful is a little off. I will correct the character as I go:
Weapon Skill: Should be a 8 maximum. Otherwise you are entering Abbadon and Crom Territory, and it is unlikely your chaos lord is as skillful as them.
Strength and Toughness: Both should be 5. No being in the game has a base toughness of 6 without a magical charm, big name etc, doing it.
Wounds: 4 is acceptable, but he would probably work better at 3.
Attacks: Make it 5, so 6 with frenzy. (I'll explain the weapon thing later)
Initiative: You could get away with 8 here
Daemon Armour: Why not instead of halves the reduction, -1 to the strength of anyone attacking the armour. In addition to a 3+ save (2+ with shield) that is quiet a powerful defence.
Sword of fallen kings: +1 strength is fine. I would change the rule about corruption to the following:
In addition to the extra strength, any model hit, but not killed by the sword becomes subject to the whispers of the blood god. At the start of every turn, (own and enemies) the model must take a leadership test. If the test is passed, the model fights as normal, if failed the model becomes subject to frenzy and will attack any model in base contact assigned as follows on a D3:
1 or 2: attacks own side
3: attacks enemy
If there are no enemies in base contact, then the model will attack friends and visa versa.
Blood Ruby: is fine
In addition, you could give him a rule that states he never looses his frenzy, even if he loosed combat.
That character would not be overpowered at 400-450 pts I would think.
Just my thoughts
I was thinking that mabey his stats are a bit high but I would like him to be an absolute tank. Ws can be dropped 8. Strengh I think with the sword making it 6 is 1 high so make that 5, also the armour makes him crazy tough anyways so that can go to 5 too. Wounds make hima tank so aslong as hes not stupid at 4 im gona leave him there. Attacks I also want to stay high so I want to keep that the same, however mabey I could make up a rule like "thorgat is so pissed of that he is in a death frenzy, and any 1s to hit at directed at his squad if he is in one. And i like the special items alot so unless there stupid I want to leave them given these changes what would you value him at ?
If you are going to use that many attacks, I would suggest the following modification to his rules:
Base Attacks: 4 (5 with frenzy)
Rage of Khorne: Thorgat is one of the few chosen of Khorne to have truely been favoured by his god. As such, in addition to frenzy, which grants him one extra attack, Thorgat must roll his attacks individually. On every roll of a 6, he gains an extra attack, as Khornes blessing takes him over. In contrast, if he ever rolls a 1, that attack is resolved against the unit he is leading, or himself, if he has no unit.
That, I think, is a fair comprismise.
Yea that dose sound like decent rule and though it dose compleatly conflict with my story I thik its still do able.
