Thane Cranlin Fireaxe has been ordered to defend teh hold from his brother Thane Dromlin Fireaxe and his army of traitor Dwarves. Dromlin must not be allowed to return home lest he sway more of the Clan to his side and gains power enough to unseat the true Lord of the Hold, Lord Mattick Fireaxe, his father.

20 warriors (Full command) Heavy Armour, shields, Great Weapons

    The Trueshots
    10 Crossbowdwarfs (muscian, shields)

    The Deep Boys
    12 Miners (Full command)

    Dwarf Cannon

    964

    Deployment.

Left from here on is Thane Dromlins left adn right is his right.

Both cannon deployed opposite each other on the left flank of the battlefield. The crossbows deployed next to the cannon, again opposite each other. The iron breakers deployed to the right of the crossbows and the warriors deployed behind the crossbows, to complete Thane Cranlins setup. The rest of Thane Dromlins army deployed opposite the iron breakers, except for the miners.

    Turn 1

Thane Dromlin advanced along with the Rippers and Fell Axes, marching forward towards Trengars' Breakers. The cannon opened fire at the Longshots across from it, but missed and killed five of Croms Strongarms instead. The Trueshots fired at the enemy cannon, managing to damage the hardy machine, but totally missing the crew!

Thane Cranlin ordered his men to stand fast and fire at the enemy, the cannon opened fire on its opposite number, managing to take off two wounds, but not destroying it outright. The Longshots took aim at the Rippers instead, killing one.

    Turn 2

Thane Dromlin, the rippers and the Fell Axes advance 3 inches. The rippers open fire, succesfully killing two of Trengars Breakers. The Cannon fires at its opposite number, blowing the opposing war machine to pieces, whilst the Trueshots fire at the Longshots, but to no effect.

Thane Cranlin again orders his men to hold fast. The Longshots fire once more at the Rippers, killing one.

    Turn 3

Thane Dromlin and his band advance 3 inches. The rippers fire at the longshots again killing 1. The cannon aims once more at the longshots, over shooting and killing 3 Strongarms. The trueshots aim for the longshots once mroe and miss!

Thane Cranilin orders his Iron Breakers to advance 6" and the Longshots to kill the Rippers. The longshots put nice crossbow bolt shaped hole in the rippers and cause them to run away.

    Turn 4

The Fell Axes and Thane Dromlin declare charges on Trengars Breakers and the Deep Boys turn up behind the strongarms. The Rippers rally. The Trueshots live up to there name for once and kill off 4 of the remaing longshots, the last few lose there nerve and flee. Because of the Rune of Slowness neither the Thane nor the Fell Axes succed in the charge.

The strongarms turn round to face the miners. Trengars breakers charge the fell axes, and with the help of Thane Cranlin in there front rank kill three. The Fell Axes then respond, killing two iron breakers. Nothing else happens.

    Turn 5

Thane Dromlin charges into Trengars Breakers, but the banner once more stops him. The rippers move into charge range of the breakers. The miners charge the strongarms, smashing aside the entire front rank and running down the warriors as they flee. Trengars breakers kill three of the Fell Axes and Cranlin kills a further one, no attacks back for the Fell Axes, but they hold strong.

Trengars breakers and the Fell axes fight each other for a noscore draw. (some bad rolling there)

    Turn 6

The Deep Boys charge the Breakers in the flank, so does Dromlin and the rippers charge them in the front. OK let me spell this out 3 str 4 armour piercing attacks plus 8 strength 5 attacks going first. That was messy for the breakers, who couldn't strike back, although cranlin killed a miner. Then 4 strength 5 attacks from the Fell axes. I think we can guess who won no?

The Breakers ran and the field was Dromlins, he headed off towards the Hold, but before he could go far a strange sight greeted his eyes, the dead dwarfs were standing once mroe and moving back towards the hold as though they were still alive, but with vacant, mindless expressions. Dromlin turned his band aside and walked away, he would come back when they were stronger, if his father had fallen in with necromancers,a s yet, there was nothing he could do.
