It is the Easter break in my lovely student house and we have jobs to do.
One of these jobs is the unwanted unblocking of the toilet, and none of us want to do it...
So instead of having a sensible discussion about who should do it we have decided to have a Warhammer tournament with the following "prizes"
1st: Gets to put his feet up
2nd: Has to get food and drink for 1st
3rd: Has to clean the kitchen and wash up
4th: Toilet time...
In order to decide this we each had to pick a 1250 point army and we would play a series of games. The first few would be simply everyone playing everybody else, with 5 points for annihilation, 3 points for a win, 2 for a draw, and 1 for losing but having models left. After that we would team up in pairs and play 3 2,500 point battles with the same scoring system.
This will take 3 days. And probably several posts...

Good Luck. Can the 4th place do ours as well while you're at it? I'm coming up soon on the rota ... not looking forward to it!
High Elves vs Dwarfs
Massacre to High Elves, Dwarf army completely destroyed.
Probably the closest battle of the day but that isn't saying too much. Dwarfs managed to destroy Dragon Princes and all but 1 of the Sword masters but the shooting and magic of the elves quickly destroyed the Organ guns and the prince using Bear's Anger was able to quickly plough into the dwarf gunline, managing to break and run down both units. Overall the Noble managed to take down an organ gun and 2 units of 12 thunderers meaning he destroyed 456 points worth of dwarf gunline. Good start for the Elves.
Orcs & Goblins vs Vampire Counts
Massacre to Vampire Counts
This might as well have been a complete annihilation. With just a unit of night goblins and 3 fanatics left it wasn't too impressive for the Orcs and Goblins, though they did manage to kill the VC Varghulf through a combination of bad dice, fanatics and static combat resolution. The blood knights did relatively little besides destroy the Black Orc unit (I said RELATIVELY) as they were drawn around by the Spider Riders for most of the game. Towards the end things could have been different had the big block of Orcs not been scared of the nearby ghouls and instead been boxed in by 2 units of ghouls and some dire wolves. The magic phase was almost completely shut down but enough ghouls were raised to make sure the Orcs were outnumbered and fell in the last round of combat. Magic is starting to look more important than was origionally thought so the Elves and Vampires look in good shape.
Dwarfs vs Vampire Counts
Massacre to Vampire Counts, Dwarf Army completely destroyed.
Strong Heavy Cavalry was always going to be powerful in these small battles but the Blood Knights here were incredible none the less. Having won first turn against the head the VC knights, varghulf and wolves marched quickly forward with the ghouls and skeletons following slowly behind. In a magic phase where curse of years was got off by the vampire knight forcing the dwarves to use 3 of their 4 dispel dice and still failing to stop the spell, there was not enought to stop the bound version of Vanhels Dance allowing the Blood Knights to plough straight into the great weapon armed warriors and, having wiped them out, overrunning into a unit of Thunderes. The varghulf tore up one of the organ guns whilst the knights, fresh from killing the first unit of thunderers, returned to the table and prepared to charge the other. By this time the larger unit of Warriors had made it to a unit of Ghouls and killed all but 2 in the first round of combat. In the next VC turn though, the other block of Ghouls got into the side of the combat and, after smashing through the remaining thunderers, the Blood knights joined for a rear charge. The combined attack was far too much for the dwarfs to handle and they were destroyed. The only remaining dwarf unit, the second organ gun, did manage to destroy the blood knights in the last turn before being eaten by the varghulf, but the battle will not go down in great dwarven conflicts. Vampire Counts end day 1 strongly, Dwarfs look solemnly towards the bathroom.
Orcs and Goblins vs High Elves
Massacre to High Elves, Orc & Goblin army completely destroyed.
This battle could be aptly named "why High Elf Mages are horrible". In the first Elven magic phase the mages reacted to the Spider riders killing of thr RBT crew by having the most succesful phase known to man, having got off all the spells needed includind Bears anger on the Prince and ward saves on the Swordmasters the O&G general had a horrible run of luck and failed to dispel the Vaul's unmaking bound item which meant that the 3 DD providing banner became mundane and the army was left with just 2 dispel dice against 7+D3 power dice and 2 bound spells. Needless to say the magic phases following all but wiped out the Orc resistance and charges from the Dragon Princes on the Black Orcs, and Swordmasters on the regular Orcs resulted in the battle being over by turn 3. The Orcs did manage to take out the RBT in the first turn and a couple of Swordmasters fell but it was about as pure a demolition as the Elves could have hoped for.
So as day one ends, its looking like a battle between Orcs and Dwarfs to avoid the unblocking. Scores are as follows:
High Elves: 10 points
Vampire Counts: 8 points
Orcs & Goblins: 1 point
Dwarfs: 0 points
TBC (probably tomorrow same time)
Poor orcs. Are you really sure you want an orc cleaning your khazi though? He'll probably try to make it into some kind of Effigy to Gork (or possibly Mork).
Gee, doesn't really seem like a series of games you want to lose O_O.
Looking good so far, though I have to ask. Why do the VC and Dwarf armies each have two Rare units in 1250 points?
Apart from the orc bloke who only has the one unit of BLorcs. Why are his spider riders in a unit of 12? And have command? He does know they can't have ranks, doesn't he?
I think he might end up clearing though, because the Dwarf could easily have beaten me (Elves) and should destroy him tomorrow morning.
Poor fella. Oi'll send ova sum of me ladz ter giv im an 'and. Shorely a buncha stunteez an sum pointy earz can't be that difficult.

Ooh, and can we get ome pictures of these spider riders? or any of the armies please?
Just so you know, if the prince is mounted then he can't have Bear's Anger cast on him. It's for Unit Strength 1 characters, and the mount makes him US 2.
Thunder rolled across the sky; and it rolled a six.
