After a minor conflict with a mounted warrior of chaos army the scouting party led by skink priest Qu'at regroups and re-arms. Shortly after a skink patrol reports news of a small band of High Elves camping on the outskirts of the jungle. Determined to stop any threat before it hits the jungle the skink priest leads his patrol onwards.
A large flat field with a small hill to the far right of center. The Elves deploy first and bang up the seaguard up front with the sword masters on their flank, the RBT (Repeater bolt thrower) deploys on the opposite flank backed up with the BSB. The Archmage is behind the seaguard.
I deploy the big block of warriors in the middle with the Scar-Vet in the middle of them. The two skink squads backed up by the priest and a salmander are to their right (Facing the swordmasters) I place the second salmander behind the warrior block and the terradon on the other flank. Their goal is to remove that RBT as soon as possible.
Phew. Now the boring bit is outa the way we can start!
The skink priesy Qu'at bore his eyes into the Archmage on the other side of the field who, in return was staring right back at him. There was a sense of power wafting off him. He was a dangerous character, one that he would enjoy facing in the field. The Scar-Veteran let out a large roar and that began the conflict.
The elves went first, everything moved up. The RBT took a shot and slammed some bolts into my terradons- Thankfully he rolled a highest of a 4, and mostly 2's. With some nice rolls on my behalf only a single wound is lost. The rest moves up and dont do anything else. The Archmage attempts a spell but is dispelled by Qu'at.
The lizardmen army moves up at a very quick pace set by the Scar-Veteran. The warrior block moves up and charges into the spearmen. The elves quickly flicked up their spears and met the oncoming scaly wall with metal and might. Killing three warriors. The retaliation sees the sheer force of the impact doing the death of three elves. The warriors only to be outdone by the Scar-veteran killing one with ease. The terradon fly ahead, the salmanders moving up the gap and the skinks assault the swordsmen, seeing the death of four skinks and no swordsmen. Qu'at in turn is dispelled as he tries to cast a spell.
The elves fight back- seeing a total death of a terradon, three warriors, four more skinks and a wound on the Scar-Veteran. The retaliation also sees the death of two swordsmen and several spearmen. Qu'at successfully gets off his Iceshard blizzard as does the Archmage, just as the unit of 2 skinks runs off, ready for the next unit to attack the weakened swordsmen.
The terradon then fly over the RBT and slam into it- seeing it destroyed- quickly flying over to assist the warrior block. The salamnders rock up and kill another 3 spearmen and another swordsmen.
Mid game fluff-analysis
Qu'at looked over his shoulder and saw a blade sink into the Scar-Veteran. A loud roar erupted, followed by a gurgling scream and a bone cracking snap. But he had to turn back and focus on his own opponent. The high priest had dispelled every spell he had tried to make- he was a force to be reckoned with. His skinks infornt of him were falling in the numbers quickly, suddenly the ground seemed to shake and the heat must of raised by several degrees as a massive jet of fire erupted from behind him, slamming into the location of the moved skinks and into the swordmen. He could see the terradon riders coming his way and he knew that so long as the warrior block held they can release their rocks on the spearmen and finish them off- leaving the elves's flanks exposed. With a brilliant light erupting from his staff the lizardmen army morale instantly raised and the fighting continued.
The salmanders caused more carnage and the terradons flew over the spearmen dropping their rocks- with an effective push form the warrior the combo saw the last of the spearmen fall. The swordsmen kill half off the unit of assaulting skinks. Not much else happanes- looks liek the elves will fail to numbers.
They do. the warrior block SLAMS into the flank and slays the swordsmen as the skinks slay the BSB. Only the archmage lives. The elf players got a phone call and had to depart, but he gave the win to me.
After game fluff-perspective
Qu'at surveyed the field and in the distance he could see his opponent running. He wont make it past the jungle, to his right his acute eyes could pick out skink movement in the tree line to which he was running to. The scar-veteran was sitting down pulling out a lodged spear form his leg. Qu'at looked up and sighed, only to be interrupted by a skink explaining the sighting of wood elves making a move on the forests. A skink priests job is never done.
Another note- still no pictures, I only have a skink priest and the skinks assembled, getting the warriors soon though. Thanks for the read!
