Ok not a battle report as such, but I went to the "Into the Wastes" ogre tour in the UK. Dwarfs vs Ogres, Not really a big setup and not much on either side. Both armies were illegal (Daemonslayer and Tyrant in what was maybe a 1 -1.5k battle),but it was more for fun.
So ogres had -
Tyrant - Longstrider, Siegebreaker, Mastadom Armour
1 x 4 Bulls
1 x 3 Bulls
Dwarfs had -
Runesmith - Great weapon, Gromril Armour
Daemon Slayer - MRoBreaking, RoFury
1 Cannon - RoForging
ST - RoAccuray, RoPenetrating
Ogres go first, all leg it forward (very far.. 12" is a long way). Nothing else, then the fun happens. Thunderers and slayers move forward , thunderers open fire (long range) no wounds. Cannon opens fire on the Leadbleachers, one is squashed (3 wounds - 6 on a d3) then the ST at the same unit... Bang on, 2 more are slain outright. Crossbowmen fail to wound.
Next turn Tyrant and bull charge slayers (Tyrant front, bulls flank), other bulls move forward and the single LB moves so he can fire at ST crew or Rsmith. Combat... Tyrant slays... 6 slayers. All attacks hit and wound as does the bull charge The bulls then pull down a following 5 slayers between them ( 3 attacking). Ouch. Dwarfs reply by wounding a single bull with the thunderers, Cannon misses badly. ST misses completely. Now, daemon slayer challenges and the tyrant accpets. Now DS has higher I (Yes.. a dwarf strikes first!! ) and with my 6 attacks I hit with four and wound with 3. His siegebraker weapon is destroyed so only his basic S now In return the tyrant wounds with 1
Now bulls move close enough to thunderers to ensure the charge, LB moves to the ST crew and sprays... no wait dumps trash on them. 6 hits, no wounds. The Tyrant is taken down by the DS - three wounds. ST scatters 10" from the lone LB (2" away) into the bulls in front of the thunderers, a single bull takes a wound and a bad guess on the cannon aimed at the LB (honest, no overguessing or anything) it bounces straight into one of the bulls in combat.. 6 wound. Thunderers fail to wound bulls.
Bulls charge, none killed in stand and shoot. LB charges ST crew, kills one but suffers a wound. Crew break and outrun him! Bulls slaughter Thunderers and overrun into RSmith. DS takes down a single bull before being drown in flab and the last one finally ends him. ST crew rally and turn to face a bull charge from the LB. RSmith is once again slaughtered and the bulls overrun into the Cannon crew.
Now LB charges ST crew and... looses combat. Crew cause a single wound and RUN HIM DOWN. Cannon crew are again slaughtered. ST crew then move past the bulls out of their charge range, the rest continue towards the X-Bows. (Behind some rocks to catch them from the rear.
X-bows turn round to face a single bull, no wounds from shooting. Bull kills one in combat but in turn is wounded and out numbered, runs off the board. X-bows end up on board edge. Three remaining bull ogres begin to do the conga (thee in a line = S6 bull charge), x-bowmen then form into a line to fire at ogres.
Two wounds from shooting caused. Conga ogres charge, one x-bowman dies. But ogre attacking fluffs all attacks and is reduced to no wounds, x-bowmen win combat and ogres flee off board.
Only 6 x-bowmen and 2 ST crew remained.
This was great fun, the person I was playing was new to WH in general but we weren't playing properly. T'was just for fun, he was learning rules still. But one thing I did learn is just how many attacks they can dish out, 4 ogres (2 HWs) with champ has 17 attacks + 4 impact hits. Very, very nasty.
But to defeat ogres all you need is a unit of crossbow dwarfs and two Stone Thrower crew.
I like your battle report, both Dwarf and Ogre players can benefit by reading it and seeing as how the OK are fairly new people need all the help thay can get.Maybe you could do a full 2k battle next?
Good to see a stunty win, they have a hard time agaisnt these new armies

Good unbiased battle report. Nice to see the 3" shufflers win!
Um well i play ogres and I can tell you right there that the ogre player was absolutely newbish! Thats probably one of the most terrible army listing ive ever seen so its no doubt that the midgets won. All that ogres have to do is use some of there skirmishing units to destroy the dwarven artillery, and in combat ogres run circles around the dwarves so its easy to defeat them.
"...a swarm of mechanised locusts sweeping over the land, stripping it bare of resources, bringing death and destruction to anything that stands in its path. Emperor preserve us against the predations of these so-called Orkish cults of speed!" - Cardinal Nomura at the Conclave of Hessen
Umm.. maybe I never made myself clear, he had never played a game before. That was all the GW team brough of ogres, so no skirmishers. We were playing for fun, and both lists were so illegal it's not worth meantioning.
Ok, I will
Lord choices in a game much smaller than it is, no dwarf unit (bar the slayers) were actually the correct size as all were 8 or under when the min size is 10. Shall I continue?
The game was fun, the ogre player was learning. Oh and an ogre can't even take out two dwarf crew.... yeah real tough
Please refrain from making such remarks before reading the posts properly.
KU- maybe swap the stone thrower of 2 bolters they seem great for skewering those orge bullies

Didn't have the choice, not my army. Ok people seem to have gotten confused here;
"Into the Wastes" was/is a GW based tour for a small OK army being taken round small stores and independant stockists in the UK. Wednesday they came to my home town (Grantham - Access Models), they brought the armies and they set it up. The only choice we had was the magic items/runes we could give, and for the hell of it they said we could include a lord charcter. So a slayer was promoted to a Daemon Slayer and the Brusier was bumped up to a Tyrant, other than that we had no choice in the matter.
So the above list is exactly what we could take or use, the person I was playing had never played before (was was getting help from a 16 yr vet) and I kinda had an advantage being a dwarf player. But if it was done properly I'd have taken more warriors, I had none so after the slayer had it i had nothing the could hold in combat. Or so I thought....
NIce batttle report... GOOD to read
