wargor, general, staff of darkoth, chaos armour(in beast herd 8/8 )
wargor great weapon, armour of damnation( in beast herd 7/8 )
beast herd 8/8
beast herd 7/8
2 tuskgor chariots.
chieftain, handweapon, heavy armour, shield
warlock full equiptment with out the pistol, storm deamon, warpstone amulet
20 clan rats, full command, spears, full armour, ratling gun
20 slaves, shields
4 rat swarms
16 stromvermin, full command (cheiftain was were), ratling gun.
That was all...anyways on to the battle
I Tzeetch was on my side for this game since i was able to able to not set up first and get first turn.
Magic spells - mines: general got green fire and blue fire, wargor got orange fire and red fire
enemy - had warplighting.
turn 1 BoC
only one of my generals herd failed there unruly test, charging forwards towards his clan rats and right in to the forest, everything else just moved up but the other herd was on the other side of the table so took the long getting closer.
first off i got a nice green fire at his slaves, killing 8 slaves , red fire at his stormvermin killing 3, i got str 3 and 6 hits and finally for a laugh my wargor used orange fire on his self even tho he was ages away form them and got it off.
were still only at turn one.
turn 1 Skaven
all moved forward nothing else
he tryed to cast magic from his warlock at my generals beast herd but couldnt since the were more than 2inchs in the forest so couldnt seem them.
none yet he moved.
turn 2 BoC
both herds past there unruley test no bother, anyways my general beast herd charged his 4 rat swarms right though the forest thank god for being stirmshers they held since they were unbreakable. my 2 tuskgor chariots charge his unit of slaves which held no other charges, other herd just moved up full belt.
to start of the magic i cast green fire at his clan rats and killed 5 rats, abit dissapointed with that, red fire at the stormvermin but was dispelled no bother and for a laugh again cast orange fire.
combat went really well for the beasts till the end. first with the rat swarms my general used the braystaff GW style caused 2 wounds, the champion cause 3 wounds, the rest of the gors casue 5 more wounds in total killing 2 swarms but 2 still got to attack back and fumbled all his attacks, i wont the combat easly but was stuck there till next turn .
2 chariots were destating to his slaves, i got a total 8 impact his killing 6, then killing a total of 2 more with the crew and tuskgors, leaving just to left, they failed to harm the chariot and lost the combat majorly but then rolled a double one on there breaktest(i know they should had autobroke but i just let him do it anyways.
turn 2 Skaven
his only charges were the flank charge of his clan rats in my generals herd managed to passed there panic test easly the reast of his army moved up other than the ratling guns.
i managed to dispel his stormdeamon but got of the 9+ warplighting on the other beast herd but only killed 3 ungors
he was tempted to shoot one ratling gun in to the combat were his clan rats and rs were fighting but he backed out at the end to scared to, The other ratling gun shot at my beastherd but at my relief expoding(man i was glad)
the big combat between his ratswarms, clanrats and my beastherd went on his clan rats only killed a single ungor and in return i cut down 2 clanrats, my general and the rest of the herd cut up both the rat swarms doing a massive 11 wounds in total, i easly wont the combat 14 to 2. The clan rats ran like rats do bests i just decided to restrain successfully. the rest of the combat between the slaves and chariots, i easly killed the 2 guys that were left.
turn 3 BoC
first off my generals beast herd went crazy and failed there unruly test, the 2 chariots charged forwards 1 charged that pesky warlock he held, The other chariot charged his stormvermin they held
My general cast greenfire at his clan rats again successfully( i'm sure i was getting an sign from Tzeetch) killed 2 more, My general tryed to his the clan rats with blue fire but miscast
and went to magic lvl 2 and losing that spell the the god wasnt happy with me.
Wargor cast redfire at his clan rats killing 2 and cast orange again on his self.
The fight between the warlock was to easy even tho he had a +4 wardsave i caused 5 impact hits on him killing him easy over running in to the stormvermin.
Other chariot got 4 impact hims killing 2 stormvermin and another 2 with the crew they casue a wound back combat res was 3(him) vs 4(me) he managed to hold.
turn 3 Skaven
His clan rats rallied easly due to there rank bonus rule. his ratling gun sat still aimed my at my generals herd .
none since his warlock got butchered bye my chariot
He aimed his ratling gun at my generals herd and opened fire getting 9 shots off and killing
6 ungors and 3 gors( ouch!). they passed there panic check just.
The 2nd chariot got to strike first bye over running, it killed 4 more stormverimin just leaving his hero and champ, they casue 1 unit to the chariot with 3 wounds left, they were easy run down bye one chariot the other held back.
turn 4 BoC
no one failed there unruly test.
the general and the one gor left charged his clan rats with the other herd from the front.
the other chariots moved around to get in postion to support there herds
i try to cast greenfire at his ratling gun but failed just, my other wargor cast orange fire but was dispelled.
this was a terriable round of combat for me, i killed a wooping 2 clan rats in total they returned and kill 1 gor from the general herd and 1 another gor, i lost the combat and my beastherd ran and as did me general he got away easly from the forest but the other beastherd were not so luck and got run over.
Sry if this is getting long but heres the rest in short.
Everything else turn bad for me, my chariot with full wounds paniced running away but returned and masscared his clan rats and ran them down,
the ratling gun shot the chariot to matchwood, then the next turn killed the other chariot.
It was down to my general and the ratling gun, i attempted to charged it but it was a bad idea and he stood and shoot wasting my general with 9 shots.....A first lost to the Best herd of BeastLord Gromerz.
Things to be learned: deal with ratling guns asap they kill anything they shoot most of the times.
chariots do work best in pairs as showed.
any comments or replies would be great.
Tis a good report, Morden. I could follow what was going on pretty well, and I think I even learned a bit. Keep it up !
Ryan Dancey, Vice President of Wizards of the Coast, believed that TSR failed because of "...a near total inability to listen to its customers, hear what they were saying, and make changes to make those customers happy." Are you listening, Games Workshop ?
Tough One. Ratling Guns IMO are too good for their points.
