OK, in this particular battle we decided to make a scenario. Malus Darkblade led a druchii raiding force with Shadowblade had just beaten an empire adversary-narrowly. Their warband was missing large chunks and some units were incomplete (COK, witch elves, ect.). Trying to get home, the path to their Black Arc was blocked by a huge amount of empire footsoldiers-
"Can I play?"
"I'm going to tell mummy if you don't let me play!!"
"Right. You can play.(dirty little...)"
"Thought you might see it my way."
"My way, little *****. More sacrifices for Khaine."
Ah, where was I before that ***** butted in. Oh yes.
-aided and abbeted by a itsy bitsy amount of High Elf cavalry (Adam learns 4 new words) and a (a fifth) mage. It was gonna get rough...
3 shades 42
3 COK 78
Malus Darkblade 350
5 dark riders 85
6 witch elves 72
16 warriors 112
16 repeatewr crossbowmen 176
TOTAL: 1388- I was allowed 1400-the teams aren't even. It's a scenario.
High (********) elves
11 silver helm 198
TOTAL: 283 (Adam, of course, had an unlimited amount of soldiers.)
22 handgunners 178
15 swordsmen 105
22 spearmen 132
20 militia 120
2 battle wizards 120
TOTAL: 1005 If I didn't have my characters I would have about 700 points. However he had about three times as many troops as me. Take that into account. Please. And he had the silver helm...
The high elves steadied their position, but I sensed something coming: the comet of cassandora, ALWAYS focused on my mage, who was unfortunately out of range, so I moved her a good 5 inches away from the rest of my army. The empire also held their position.
The High Elf mage smashed down my scorceress with the comet, but fortunatelt hit no-one else. Saradain, the clever, cunning crossbowmen commander, turned his disciples around (alongside the RBT) to face the oncoming silver helm charge. Then I fired. I hit the mage and one empire battle wizard firing multiple shots from my RBT. My crossbowmen knocked six silver helm off their mounts. permanently. Then they knocked the mounts down, too. My shades hit one spearmen and killed the guy. (Awwww, and he'd just got the best idea for a practical joke,too...).The empire decided it would be a good idea to charge me. For those who are crap at math, that's, that's, ummm, one, two, three... That's 79 empire charging me (the remaining battle wizard included). Then the cannon exploded. *They knew as soon as they had packed too much gunpowder. The crewman on duty screamed for help, but was severed at the waist within moments. The other crewman happened to be out walking a couple of miles away. He looked up, and what did he see? A random peice of shrapnel discovering gravity two foot above his head...* The helblaster took out 4 witch elves, though, and the handgunners took out 4 dark riders.
Amaxingly, the silver helm did not charge! (The leader was probably getting some airholes drilled in his head at the time.) My firepower took advantage of that and reduced them to three men. Then my cold one knights charged the swordsmen as the dark rider took on a group of ten men and got mullered. So did the COK's, but they killed a swordsman. Malus sustained a wound but wiped out the group of 7. THEN THE MILITIA HIT MY SPEARMEN. they killed 12 and 'captured' 4. (House rule.)
It was bye-bye silver helms and handgunners, thought Saradain, grimly. And good heavens, he was right! Yay! Unfortunately some pesky swordmen killed my RBT and crew. The lil' brainboxes were know two inches away from my crossbowmen. In other places, I was out of range. The spearmen weren't-that is to say, the larger group of 16. The cowards ALL charged Malus darkblade. They ALL failed to wound! Malus swiped out with his sword, and knocked three down. Unfortunately one was only pretending and got back up again...but Malus won! He did sustain another wound, though.
Uh-oh. My general was in charging range of the militia-and my crossbowmen were out of range. They cheered themselves up by massacring all the swordsmen. But I had an IDEA! The shades and shadowblade charged the militia. Of course it was futile! And they were wiped out bfoe they could kill one milia-but when shadowblade died, a bomm goes off. Boom. There would be empire undergarments in Lustria this time tommorow.
TURN 6retty simple. My crossbowmen finished of the peasants, and the general and captain met malus darkblade. The spearmen were liberated. Happy half term.
This is one of the most entertaining bp's I've read in a long time. Here are some of my favorite lines.Originally Posted by samu1710Discovering gravity, great. He looked up, and what did he see? I'm curious about your "capture" house rule. Can you explain it?
Great report. I hope you write more like it.
Although it was a scenario and we were playing the survivor wins, the 'capture' rule was still in play.
When a group of soldiers attacks another group of soldiers and wins at least one round of combat, if so the attackers wish then they can have an option to 'capture' the enemy. The person in charge of the enemy roles a dice for each one. 4+=he isn't moving. 3-=he is now a POW. The prisoners are moved off the board. If the capturers win then they get DOUBLE the victory points than they would've got for each [in this case] spearman. However they will get no victory points AT ALL if someone else wins. In this case I 'liberated' the spearmen and spearwoman. In a normal game I would get half the victory points of each model I liberated (rounding down).
Thats a pretty cool rule I might try that out!. Nice battle report by the way.
