I stated a 'George A Romaro' Zombie Pirates army for the modeling, not the on field power of them. It is a good thing I did not start them for thier combat power. These beasts are about as useful as the mindless zombies in the movies.
I will not get into the gory details, but I gave up on my 2000 point Zombie Pirate Army after turn 2. Those wood elves are good at shooting, and then crushed my in close combat. Luthor was frenzied, and charged his Lord losing badly. My shooting, as it is claimed about 5elf lives (stupid 6+ ward save). My Laviathan got another 2 in close combat; that was it.
It was thier first fight, but it will not be thier last. I am taking them to a 2000 point tournie this weekend. The draw has already been made and I will face Skaven, Chaos (Khorne) and Bretonia. I give myself little chance, but it will be fun.
P.S. They do look really cool.
Have you got any pics of them painted?

You need a character in every unit. So you can get some attacks off and weaken the brain dead effect. Search my name Eagletsi and you will find the battlereport with them. Our Zombie Pirate player does very well with his list.
Thanks so much, I have had real problems using them with any effect. I had a closer game, but still a lose to the skaven. Luthor and his captains don't seam to stand up against other lords and heros well. And the shooting is just too eratic and does not cause enough wounds to do much.
I will have a look and see whats I can see.
Glad to help if possible.
