2 Captain Heros
60 Hand Gun deck mob
2 bloated corpses
10 scurvy dogs
20 Deck gunner
1 cannon and...
He had (not sure)
2 majic using hero/lords
lots of troops
some Ogre Rats
lots of rat ninjas and assassins
Turn 1 and 2: His warp lightning killed me all day, and he charged forward. I shot up his gutter runners and his Jezzails and waited for the tide to hit me and the chance to counter attack.
Turn 3 and 4: He charged his plague monks and troops into my left side killing off my poor pirates. However I got revenge by charging him with 10 Ogers and Luthor. Luthor did well killing scores of rats. My Laviathan took out his rat ogres before getting warp lightnighed. His rat assassins and rat ninjas finally charged my zombie pirates and started the killing.
Turn 5 and 6: He finished off my Ogres with (what else) warp lightning. His rat ninjas killed off the last of my Pirate Zombies, and managed to rattling gun all 10 of my Scurvy Dogs. I killed or made all his rats on the left flee with Luthor. He then survived a turn of majic and warplock pistols managing to live with 2 wounds left.
In the end there was not much left on either side, and I had 2 standards. I felt good. However when the totals were added he got a solid victory. Losing my Ogres (they had another standard) on turn 6 hurt.
All in all it was a much better showing for my Pirates. I will change the make up of my list a great deal, and use them in combinations better, but I think this army has some serious weaknesses.
40 hand gunners shooting do about 4 wounds to the enemy and about 4 to yourself, so shooting at rats actually helps your opponent.
Luthor and his Captains are poor fighters. My hero lost to a rat champion, and Luthor is not better than a tooled up Dwarf Elf or Chaos Hero (he would get eradicated against any Lord). No armour, and str 5 hits with nothing else behind them, he just has no punch in his shots.
The Zombie Orges, and Deck gunners were effective for me.
 you are not the only guy who get kill by that warp last time i fight them with my normal vampire they just blow half of my army the first turn... the third my ghoul ran away... my banshe got blow by a grenader... and finaly i could get myself in range with my blood dragon to charge is hero. after this some funy thing appen . i succed to kill is hero! i make run is grenader! who took with them the beast master and the rat ogre! and that not all ! that damn warp machine got scared to! sadly my hero didn survive against the slave regiment and got cut in a thousand of piece . ( next time i play vs those damn vermin i take 2 necro with me...)
my entire zombie pirate army is coming next week :-D, i just love the idea of zombie pirates!
A word of warning. The next time you get a strange unexplained reading on your Flagship's scanner and sensor arrays, don't dismiss it as a glitch or ghost. The Necrons are a real threat now, and they are out there, biding their time, waiting for you!
yea i like pirate zomby to . but realy ist just bunch of zomby with empire milice equipement?
Sorry, this is off topic, but it reminds me of Pirates of the Caribbean...
This is a good battle report, to the point, and is good at helping people build armies. Warp lightning sure is deadly.
"Well... that hurt" - Vampire Jon Skellan (Mannfred's right hand man) after being beaten up, falling down an underground waterfall and being impaled by a stalactite.
But as I said before, you need some Deck Droppers (To take out the Warmachines) and Carronades. (Cannon's that can move an fire) They are perhaps the most deadly of all cannon's in the game (Due to their versatility).
Anyway keep up the reports,
Sorry I haven't been able to post any in while. I had some major family issues (My daughter was born 5 weeks early and had many issues).
I plan on having a battle this weekend with my new empire army, look for a post sometime next week.
Please could you be alittle more specific? I could barely follow that report.
On another note, I didn't realise that Zombie pirates wer an army, just part of the undead.
Worshipper of Dice
Last game: Victory Dark Elves vs High Elves & Orcs & Goblins
WDL: Dark Elves:37/6/8 Space Marines:7/3/3
zomby pirate are a adaptation of the undead into the new world do to the number of explorer who die there . they actuly are not into any rule book of warhammer . the how to use them is on white draft number 305 that i ask to my warhammer market . but what i dont know is if you can use the zomby pirate with a normal army of count vampire . ( finaly some range unit with the undead) and a other thing i dont know is if they can use canon like real pirate ( that could OWN).
