Well this is my first ever battle report so it might not be as good as some of the ones on here.
i've been playing ogres for a little while and so i decided to post one of my battle reports ... this is one of the few games that i win with my ogres Lol.
Butcher with Skullmantle, Bangestick and 2 Toothgnoblars.
3 Bulls with Standard, Look out Gnoblar, Crusher and Extra hand weapons.
Maneater with Heavy armour and Great weapon. (he didnt mid that i had two rare choices)
Wizard with Ring of the lands
Hellblaster (think thats what its called)
He won the role to set up so i had to set up first here how it looked
I set my Bulls and Butchr on the small hill (south) and my Maneater below the Gate.
He put his 20 freecompany left of the hill and his Wizard right of it. With his Hellblaster on top. He then put his 10Freecompany on the edge of the field behind the fence and he set up his Hunters in the Farmhouse.
He won the roll to go first...
Turn 1 - Empire
Moving: Cannon moved forward 4 inches and the rest of his army stayed put as they feared the lurking gorger :shifty:
Shooting: his pesky little hunters took 2 wounds from my Maneater
Turn 1 - Ogres
Moving: I marched my maneater through the gate and into the field.
My Bulls stayed still as the cannon was just out of range
Magic: I cast braingobbler on the hunters and they fled form the farmhouse
Turn2 - Empire
Moving: He managed to rally his hunters and the rest stayed still
Magic: He cast an annoying spell which made all his units imune to pyschology
Shooting: I saved the wound cause on my Maneater
Turn2 - Ogres
Moving: My gorger came onto the board and moved just behind he cannon.
I saw that the Gorger would keep him busy so i moved my Bulls forward 6 inches.
Magic: Bonecruncher killed a crew member of the cannon and i used Toothcracker to make my bulls T5 and my butcher T6. (I lost a wound)
Combat: Maneater charged the hunters and killed 3 without taking a wound back
Turn3 - Empire
Moving: He Faced the cannon at my Gorger. Moved his Wizard behind his hunters and marched the 20 Freecompany forward.
Shooting: His cannon caused about 10 wounds on my gorger and so vapourised it.
Comabat: His hunters manage to kill my maneater!! (this is where i tell myself that ive lost)
Turn3 - Ogres
Magic: DISPELLED (And i wasted both tooth gnoblar)(
Turn4 - Empire
Moving: His 20 Freecompany march forward and his Hunters moved infront of my bulls (7 inches away)
Shooting: His cannon took 4 wounds from my Bulls and his Hinters missed.
Turn4 - Ogres
Moving: My Butcher leaves the Bulls.
Magic: I kill the remaing crew with Bonecruncher, 4 Hunters with my Bangstick and healed a wound with bloodgreul :w00t::w00t::w00t::w00t:
Combat: The Bulls charge the remaining Hunters and rip them to shreads before overunning just infront of the Wizard.
Turn5 - Empire
Moving: His 10 Freecompany finally move from behind the fence and enter the field.
Magic: Dispelled his ring of the lands and a spell that would give hie Wizard 3 str5 attacks in combat.
Combat: Wizard foolishly charges the Bulls and gets eaten:shifty:
Turn5 - Ogres
Moving: Butcher hops over fence so he can see the 10 Freecompany
Magic: Kill 2 free company with Bonecruncher
Turn6 - Empire
Moving: His 20 Free company moved towards the Bulls and his 10 Freecompany faced my Butcher.
Turn6 - Ogres
Moving: Bulls carried on evading the Freecompany
Magic: Bangstick killed 4 Freecompany and the Braingobbler made the remaining 4 flee.
Turn7 - Empire
Moving: His squad of 4 Freecompany fled off the board and his squad of 20 still followed the Bulls.
Turn7 - Ogres
Moving: Bulls turned to face the Freecompany and the Butcher hopped over the fence to see the remaing Freecompany.
Magic: Bonecruncher + Bangstick killed 4 Freecompany
Turn8 - Empire
Combat: He charged my 2 Bulls and only hit 3 of the attacks and then failed to wound with those 3. My Ogres replied by Ripping apart 5 of his Freecompany!!:w00t:
Turn8 - Ogres
Moving: I got my butcher ready for a charge.
Combat: He took 3 wounds which killed the standard and left the Crusher wounded, But he didnt go quietly and took 4 down with his attacks! The Crusher broke and the Freecompany persued off the board.
Turn9 - Empire
Moving: His Freecompany came back and marched 8 inches.
Turn9 - Ogres
Magic: The Butcher cast Braingobbler to make the Freecompany flee 8 inches and then he used Bonecruncher to kill 1
Turn10 - Empire
Moving: His 6 remaining Freecompany fled off the board and so my butcher was left all alone with lots of dead thing to eat :w00t:
Well i normally lose with my Ogres and so this was a good game for me
I'm Useless :D
I really enjoyed reading this. Well done! Just a few queries:
1. I thought a butcher wasnt allowed to be a general (I know this was a 500pt fun game dont worry)
2. I wonder who would have won if you stopped at turn 6 like most battles hmmmm :ninja:
3. Marital Bliss 2. Military Intelligence 1. MICROSOFT WORKS
Vassal Record 1-2.
Well it was only a fun game and yes he wouldof probably won if we stopped at turn 6
I'm Useless :D
good battle but i hope u don't win against me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:shifty:Well i did on Sunday and it was great :w00t:
I'm Useless :D
In a combat patrol Which is 500 pts you can use a butcher as a general, just as a bit of clairification.
