The old Marauders used to come on the small infantry bases.
New ones come on large infantry bases.
I have some of the old Marauders and have just bought new ones to increase the size of the unit. To adhere to the rules, (more in the interest of fair play than for tournaments), should I re-base the old marauders onto bigger bases?
In general play they should be fine just being ranked up with the newer ones, and spread out a little within their ranks to get the right width. For tournements you may want to look at rebasing.
I'd rebase them. Only because, even in friendly games, it's going to be a hassle. Whenever you get charged from a different direction, take casualties, etc. you are eventually going to get to bases that are too small.
And that will mess with the fairness of the unit- letting you get more troops into base base, taking up less area for templates, that sort of stuff.
It's not expensive, just get some old orcs or bitz order, and rebase them.

Okay, so this is thread resurrection, but I wanted to clarify this question, and I did a search and found it, so I didn't want to start a new thread... let me know that I'm stupid if it doesn't make sense to do this. I recently picked up some of the very old models of marauders that were at my LGS, because I like them much better than the current marauders, which it seems aren't being replaced. Is the new base size for marauders 25x25mm? I just want to make sure I am doing it by the books, as I am going to start assembling an army for the new WoC.
edit: I was also thinking of buying ogre bulls and converting to Spawns, are these the same base sizes?
1) yes maruaders are on 25 mm bases
2) I have always seen spawn on the 40mm size base. Which i believe is the same size as the ogre bases.
