I wanted to add some ogres in my goblin army is this legal according to the rules? I want to add a regular dogs of war ogre wick causes fear. If this is not possible then probaly some ironguts. ANyone any idea on this?
Public pdf's from GW itself with all the DoW units including point cost:
DOW Ogres, Ironguts, Bull ogres and leadbelchers are a rare choice for most armies and maneaters are 2 for any army. I would recommand ironguts they are good at smashing knights and armour stuff up and make a nice counter-attack unit to.
ok thanks alot for you're help i'll be putting them to good use
CAN you even take them now? I heard that DoW were being phased out until the release of the new book. So, when they bring out a new Army Book (say high Elves) they remove the DoW options in the Rare section. The only exception to this is the Giant IIRC.
Can anyone shed any light/ideas/final ruling on this matter?
Due to the fact that not all DoW choices are rare these days, you just follow the rules in the DoW entry as to where it fits in your list (and which armies can take them).
Having an army and not owning a rulebook is like owning a car with no steering wheel.Originally Posted by amishcellphone
So, can Empire or Orcs and Goblins take Dogs of War then? They're no longer part of the lists, see.
I don't think so mate.
They are not an option in the Army Book so you can't. Thats how I have been playing them with my Empire.

The "A Smart Player Will..." theory is a complete paradox. If we make an assumption that everything we do is outsmarted, then theoretically we can never win.
