As above: at which point are the lores for the mages chosen? During the creation of army lists? Before you learn who you're playing? Before deployment? During? After? When exactly? I've checked the brb but I think I have a problem with my brain being missing on this one. THanks!
From the Nightmares of Mortals, For the Greater Good of the Devourer of Worlds!
Seeing as there are no random factors when choosing schools you can pick them whenever you want really (although obviously before the start of turn 1). Most people will have an idea of what school they will use when they write the army list, however you are free to change this when you see your opponent.
The only exception to this would be tournament play, when if you are not allowed to change your list between games then you woudnt be able to change schools each game either. In this situation they would be chosen when you write the army list and marked on the list.
You roll for spells before deployment, so that's when you can choose your lore (assuming your mage has access to multiple lores). See the "Selecting Spells" section of the rulebook, page 111.
Really? I always though for things like the Grand Tournament you would have to stick with one lore. Being able to change lores would give magic heavy armies a bit of an advantage as they could adapt more to face their foes.
