whats the difference? my guess is that a battle standard can take a magic banner while a war banner cant. other than that i had a few questions.
Does the war banner count as 100 VPs? Does it stack with standard bearers like a battle standard or is it a replacement? Finally, if it doesn't replace the regular standard can it be in addition to both for a +3 CR? I'm fairly certain thats not the case because it would be so over powered but i figured i should ask while I'm on topic.
It's got nothing to do with the battle standard, treat it separately. It's simply a banner which gives you +1 CR.
So a unit with a normal standard, a warbanner and a battle standard gets +3 CR just from banners!
Yep its a great way to generate static CR, grab a large unit with +3 ranks bonus, +3 CR from banners and hopefully +1 from outnumbering and the opposing person has 7 CR to deal with before you even cause a single wound! (plus, you get a reroll on your break test if for some reason you lose the combat )
