and if so could i get a page reference

    cheers.

    Nope- there isn't.

Seems a good thing too, because otherwise some things would get excessively overpowered, while some races would be really disadvantaged.

There's no rule in WHM about this- it's exclusivly a 40k thing. I'm guessing that there just isn't anything in the order of an orbital bombardment in the WHM world.

40k doesn't have killing blow, however....
No more NG spearmen, thanks! Now I need some pump-wagons!

Dunno about orbital bombardment - comet of Cassandora or Conflagration of doom seem pretty close, but no, in Warhammer, there is no insta kill due solely down to teh S of an attack, Killing Blow is like an exceptionally powerful or precise attack that takes apart an enemy through decaptiation or similar.

Killing blow is better IMHO than instant death, especially considering that the weapons are swords and lances instead of rocket launchers and battle cannons.

Instant death represents a munition being so powerful that it simply obliterates its target down to the last molecule. The only race with weapons that powerful would be the Empire, so it would significantly outbalance the game if there was instant death.

There are 3 occassions that you could be referring to:
    1) KB- as has been said
    2) S7+ on Chariots- as has also been said
    3) D3/D6 wounding weapons- like Cannons.

All of which can kill something instantly, but are all circumstance-specific.

they were saying that a wound from something that is double the str of a character kills it, no mater how many wounds it has.

This is what confused me as id never heard of such a thing before.

I have no idea how they got that one then.

Probably just one of those rules that people assume will be in the WHFB rulebook (a while ago, a member asked where the+1A on the charge bonus rule could be found).
