In a 1vs1, 1000pt game, what are the regular field dimensions? Right now me and my friends are playing 40" by 40". Thanks!!
48"x48" is 'normal' for a 1,000 pt game, but 40x40 should be plenty of room. Just remember that the rule for deployment is 24" from the other army, not actually 12" from the edge! Your deployment zone is only 8" deep on a 40x40 table, a bit cramped!
Yeah that makes more sense, thanks!
A 48"x48" board is a little narrow for manouvre though, so a better bet would be a 48" x 72" or scaling down, a 40" x 60" board.
This allows plenty of scope for outflanking, and spreads the battel line wider to allow more troops to be engaged...
A 4x6 board is the standard for any game up to 4K. However, i've played on a 4x4 board at 1500pts and it was fine. Manuevering does get cramped, but depending on what armies are participating, you hardly notice it. The only problem is that a well placed artillery piece can cover the whole field, and cavalry can be across the field by the second turn easily.
Alright thanks guys!
