Erm, basically just trying to knock up a 1000pt list with what Chaos I have at the minute. So can play a few quick games with my mate (HE Player) before new book/models are released.
I want my Warriors (Chosen) to have shields, and two hand-weapons. So they can have the shields equipped during movement, and 2HW's in combat (Is this legal?)
Now my mate is not too bothered about this WYSIWYG, but I reckon people at the shop could be in future, If I can go through with this, I will have to show on the model that they have both a shield, and 2 HW's, which is going to be a bit of a bitch to pull off.
What do you guys make of it?
Many Thanks ;]
Usually a mix of the two in the regiment is acceptable. Just make sure there's a fair mix of both types in the front two ranks.
Ah, many thanks :]
Another option would be having the shields slung across their backs with GS straps to hold them.
Prodesse Non Nocere
Eldar - Suranii Craftworld 0/0/0
Marines - Astrum Corvus 0/0/0
Guard - 55th Estor 1/1/0
yea a friend recomended this, but I'm not too great with the GS!
Or you can just glue a second handweapon on their back or side, I always thought the knives on the Ork boy sprue worked great, or any form of axe works too.
“Krump first, assk qweztions neva'!"- 3000 Orks
Dark Eldar- 1500 1/0/0
"the very gods for vengeance cry”- 3000 Dwarves
I can understand him not wanting to model the straps though. GSing straps and ropes is not as easy as it seems. You have to consider how a strap would actually lay over a model, and if anything would cover it over. You also have to make it look thin enough to fit with the rest of the straps on the model, and it's usually good to have buckles or details to differentiate it from a metal hoop or a rubber band. That doesn't even take into account the size of Chaos Armor and the fact that often, the straps used to sling a shield onto your back, were the same straps that were used to affix it to your arm.
I would give them the hand weapon, and the shield, and then glue the second handweapon to their side. Or, to make it easy, just mix the regiments. Then you could even seperate it into units with HW&S or HWx2 later on.
