hey there guys, I've read and re-read all the rules on how to rank units and I'm short one piece or vital information,
are there any restrictions to HOW I can rank my units?
I'm playing skaven and so far I've only seen people mentioning multipuls of 5 being the acceptable width of any unit, like 5-10-20,
are there any rules forbidding me from ranking them differently?
35 clan rats, 7 wide, 5 ranks deep?
in other words, am I going to catch any flak from my opponents when I rank up my units so they gain the most frontage they can?
No, thats perfectly fine You can rank your units just the way you want.
The only rule that applies to ranking units is the one that they must be 5 wide to get a rank bonus. You can rank them up however you like. Most people try to get a wide frontage for elite units that can do a lot of damage, and more rank bonuses for the less destructive troops.
Thou shalt remember:
Warhammer Fantasy armies do NOT have Codices. They have Army Books.
