Sorry if this has been posted before but I didn't see anything that was near my question.
If I have a captain BSB with the griffon standard in a large ranked unit (let's say swordsmen) and get charged by something that kills my captain, at the end of combat do I still double my rank bonus? (the effect of the griffon standard)
The magic standard is no longer there, he's dead. But ranks are figured out from the beginning of combat, when he was alive. I have a feeling its no, as he's dead. But I wanted to make sure.
Most Notable Achievements:
Killed a Revenant Titan in one shot.
Killed 900 pts worth of Blood Angels in 2 turns while only loosing 4 pts.
You are correct in that you wouldn't get double. The ranks are counted from the beginning but the magical effect doesn't come into play until the end. Same as if he had a warbanner, its effect wouldn't work either after his demise.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
i agree he's dead. so you don't double your rank bonus
