So while playing my second game of fantasy this weekend I flank charged a unit with some chosen and a sorc. of nurgle. During the magic phase I wanted to buboes a demon carrying a standard in a unit nearby, please see diagram.
Ok so the D's are demons with the S being the standard bearer. C are my usit of chosen attacking the demon groups flank, when charging I line up to get max coverage, but this leaves my sorc (M) with clear LoS to the standard bearer. A local long time player told me that the mage couldn't cast the spell as LoS was blocked by CC, but I argued that my mage didn't have his LoS blocked as he was at the end of the combat. Who was right here?
I am pretty sure that if the sorceror was in the unit of chosen, his LOS would have been limited to only the demon unit he was engaged with, even if he was not technically in B2B contact.
Yes, as long as he is attached to that unit, he only has LOS to the unit that his unit is in CC with
Also remember magic missile spells cannot be cast into or out of combat by the characters involved in the same combat. I'm pretty sure that's a magic missile spell so once that sorc unit is engaged he cannot cast it.
*you mage LOS is restricted straight ahead, he could only cast straight ahead
*even if he's on that end and you flank charged his unit is still engaged to the unit he's flanking
*its a magic missile cannot be cast out of combat or into combat UNLESS worded otherwise.
