Hey guys I got a question about losing magic items that give additional spells to a caster. Items such as a power familiar or that wand HE have are a few examples. What happens when Vauls unmaking (forgive my spelling I dont have an HE book) or the lore of metal spell that can destroy a magic item goes off and kills these types of items.
1) Does the wizard that loses the item lose a spell?
2) Is the lost spell chosen by the wizard who loses his item, or his opponent? Or is the spell lost randomized?
Hmm, interesting question. I believe if a wizard loses a magic level (to a miscast, say) then he doesnt lose any spells. I can only assume that items that grant extra spells work in a similar way, unless the item itself carries the spell (bound or otherwise)
