If I have a mounted character joining a unit of on foot infantry, and the units wins combat, can I pursue on 3d6 with my character ?
Same thing for a charge. The rules specifies that the character slows the whole unit movement, but if my character moves faster but doesn't declare a charge on his own, does it mean he can actually leave the unit during a charge if the unit doesn't make it, aka he would charge alone ?
The unit cannot pursue 3D6 inches. They must pursue as a whole, and the character can't leave to increase his pursuit.
If a character wants to use his full move to charge, he must declare a charge of his own. He can't leave after the fact. Either declare a charge with the unit, or with him alone. You can't separate him after the decision.
I am right 94% of the time, why worry about the other 3%.
What sirkently said.
To round it off, A unit moves as slow as its slowest member, if your infantry unit has a movement <=6 (most likely it will) then they follow the pursuit rule.
As for charges. The unit charges as a whole, if the unit fails then every member of the unit fails the charge, including any characters in the unit who may be fast.
For movement purposes, be it pursuit, march, charge, pivot or walk they always move as slow as the slowest member.
