Alright, my friend and I had a big argument today. I cast Flames of the Pheonix on his unit of Corsairs with Irresistable Force. It killed about 8. But then, on his next turn, he said he was using power dice to dispel it. I know this is one way you dispel a RiP spell, but if it was cast with IF, can he still do this?
-My Warrior Priest will challenge your Chaos Lord
-OK, my Chaos lord will slaughter you
-My warrior priest with Van Hortsmen's Speculum will take his 7 Str 8 attacks. You die.
-Take your model off the table, he's dead
It only counts as irresistable force on the turn it was cast, if the spell has a casting value of 11+, he can dispel it on 11+ with his powerdice in his turn.
He was right, you where WRONG! Now you go apologise
Wicked is right. Read BRB p. 139, "Dispelling Spells in Play", last sentence.
